I loved Maria as Nessa--wonder how she holds up as Elphaba.
Be sure to ask your friends

My friend JUST called me. She went to the evening show and loved it!
She said that if she hadn't known they were understudies, she would have never guessed. I asked her if she stage doored but she said she'll call me back.
I didn't even know this person was going tonight until she called! I knew another friend that went tonight but haven't talked to her yet.
emo- the dates somethingwicked has posted are previous dates. I thought they were for the future and I was surprised until he PMed me.

so wish i saw today because i would have loved to see maria, she must have kicked ass lol. I asked her last night and she said she didnt know
darn oh well
honestly how many shows do stephanie and kendra miss. it seems like these two can't get through a week without missing performances.
Someone told me supposedly Kendra misses two performances a week? I'm probably wrong though.
Kendra is not contractually obligated to do the matinees. She only does them when she feels up to it. It was her opinion that, since she is not a natural soprano and had to really work at it to sing those higher notes, that doing the show on a full schedule would be too taxing on her voice, so she had it in her contract to not do matinees. However, she does sometimes do them. It's on a case to case basis..
Stephanie is not contracted to do matinees either. She invoked that part of her contract while recovering from her injury, but when she returned to the tour after San Francisco, she resumed a full show schedule.
Did anyone here see Annaleigh Ashford? If so, review please!

Why does Kendra bother putting her website URL in her bio since her website has been "Coming Soon" for over a year???

Glinda and Elphaba should always be on a 6 show a week schedule like Christine, Kim, Jekyll/Hyde. I think its just healthier on the voice and body (and soul) in these vocally demanding roles and better overall for the production and cast morale. for an audience memeber its better too. if you KNOW you're getting tickets for a day the alternate is on and you don't care..then you can't be disappointed when the person you THOUGHT was supposed to be in is "out"...AND...then the actor playing the role 6 times a week KNOWS that they can count on two shows to be able to rest and be awesome for the rest of their shows with no pressure to HAVE to do 8 without being criticized. i have been in a few shows where there is an alternate and i have found that it really DOES make a huge difference all around. EVERYONE is prepared for it this way.

What can you do? Steph only has a few weeks left, maybe she's trying to stay (or get?) REALLY healthy so she can finish it off with a bang. I heard she hates track suits
Haha hates track suits...hehehe.
Not if its JUICY! He-He-He
I see both of your points, but I think that Kendra Kassebaum has missed a ton more than Stephanie J. Block if i am not mistaken, and Stephanie J. Block does almost all of the mattinees dont forget so she really works hard.
somethingwicked -
it wasn't Analeigh Ashford on as Glinda at the Saturday evening performance, it was Emily Rozek. I thought it was Analeigh too, until my friend who also attended that evening later showed me the insert in her playbill (mine didn't have one).
any updates?
i really hope Julia Murney does every weekend performance in Philly
I must say you guys in Florida have been so great with the reviews and stuff... keep it up! Just a few more days to go in Ft. Lauderdale and then it's off to Steph's last stop! What? Wow, that went by fast.
PS - glad at least 2 people enjoyed my little attempt at humor earlier
