Did anyone else get a copy of this yet? Broadway Circle has them (though at full price) in case any of you can't wait. I haven't really had a chance to go through it, but it has pictures from the OBC and National Tour (it briefly mentions the Chicago production).
I see you couldn't deal with the heat you got in the Stephanie thread you bashed in so you came here to spill your sour milk on this thread too. CATS, when it comes to Wicked threads you clearly need to go back to playing with the catnip and string and just leave them be.
Is this book going to be kind of like the RENT memoir book there is out?
"It's a great feeling of power to be naked in front of people. We're happy to watch actual incredible graphic violence and gore, but as soon as somebody's naked it seems like the public goes a bit bananas about the whole thing."
OK, I finally had a chance to go through some of this book. The pictures are a mixture, throughout, of both the Broadway Cast, Touring Cast, and the first Broadway replacements. While it includes the libretto, it is abridged. It's not complete, sometimes it summarizes the dialogue and prints only the songs. There is a section that has All the actors who have been cast as Glinda, Elphaba, Fiyero, Nessa, Boq, Mme. Morrible and the Wizard discussing how they approach the role. However, It doesn't include any information on the Chicago cast (This book was most likely in the editinbg stages before that production was even cast, it's mentioned twice). With the exception of Carol Kane and Derrick Williams, the tour cast seems to have a much better grasp of the characters (whether or not that understanding is realized on stage is an entirely different matter). As far as insight into the show's beginnings, it doesn't really offer that much that we didn't already know, though I was unaware that it was in the making since about 1998. It's highly worth owning.
Thanks Fosse! I'll get it if only for Chris and Kristin.

Also, in the new Elle Girl with Alexis B. from Gilmore Girls, there is a picture of Megan Hilty holding a copy if wanna see what it really looks like : D
Thanks Fosse!!! Any more details you'd be willing to share?
Question for Wicked fans I just got an the Wicked newsletter stating that the book is being released on Oct.19? I thought it was the 26th? Which is it? Hopefully the 19th!!!!! That's like 6 days!!!!!
Okay, i am confused. I pre-ordered a copy from Amazon and it says it will be shipped DECEMBER 18??? Did they change the date? I email Amazon and have yet to hear back. Anyone have any info?
Pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f**ckin' perfect!
Sorry! I'm in Chicago and have limited access to the internet. There are sections devoted to different aspects of the show: cast, set, songs, etc. There is a short section on costumes, but it doesn't have any sketches and shows pictures of the cast in the various costumes. It isn't all inclusive, and I think this is where the reader is short-changed. On a side note, and one I think is very good, they have illustrations throughout that are reminiscent W.W. Denslow (original illustrator for The Wonderful Wizard of Oz). Also, the section on songs goes through each song and discusses the song.
If you pre ordered it from Amazon a long time ago to save money they don't ship it till the end of october
