Usually Score is not televised, I can only remember the year Book of Mormon won being the exception (were there other years?) I'm thinking they might this year because of Hamilton. Anyone in the know?

If it is televised, I would think that the reason would be that Sara Bareilles and Steve Martin are nominated, and not because of Hamilton.

It was televised the year Cyndi Lauper won for Kinky Boots. I expect it will be televised this year with recognizable names like Sara Bareilles, Steve Martin, ALW, and Miranda up for the award.
I find it kind of shameful they only televise this category nowadays when they think a celebrity is going to win. It has to be sort of degrading to all the other composers out there. For instance last year it was quite pathetic that the history made in the category (with Tesori and Kron winning) wasn't deemed "important" enough for the live broadcast.

TheGingerBreadMan - Are you kidding? The Grammy Awards aired a performance and category for best musical theatre album BECAUSE of Hamilton. Yes, the other nominees are quite a draw, however, Lin-Manuel Miranda is definitely the reason CBS will most likely air the award this year.

"Also when Alan Menken finally won (for Newsies). So my guess is yes, they will since the Hamilton score has become such a big deal. But at the expense of what other awards is anyone's guess.
