Well it rolls off the tongue more easily than "overacts in every scene I'm in" does.
And is just as effective!
Will Legally Blonde even last.....until the show...
Will Legally Blonde last...
Let's hope not. Seriously. For real. For certain.
The Reality Show is for BROADWAY, not the tour, so they will try to keep the show open thru the Summer.
The bigger shows that want the Palace are not coming in till late 2008 or 2009.
The Palace will be BLONDE for a while longer.
MGM owns the show. MTV has a strong desire to keep the show running for the new reality series. If the nut is 625,000 then "Legally Blonde" has had only four weeks so far that the show has been below the nut. It has happened before that the studios havce propped up a faltering show they have money in until the spring recovery.
And some of the people on this site have no concept of what they are blatering on about. But then, I'm beginning to realize there are a great deal of kids on this site and maybe a few are visiting this thread.

- Not to be rude. But you JUST realized this?

Beleive me-I am well aware of when this show opened. I was just using Tony-time as a mile post of the year. Since the Theatrical Year basically revolves around the Tony's in New York, I threw that time out as a universal High Water mark. Also, I would think that some of the shows that are waiting in the wings would want to open in time for tony consideration. So that date has added importance in terms of Legally Blonde's closing.

They had screen testings in Orlando,FL last week and according to my friend who is up for the reality show they really close to selecting some girls already. I dont know why they are still having auditions if thats the case.
I was aware of it from the beginning. I had just ignored the fact that there are kids here. Until they started making comments with littl-or-no information to back them up.
Poor Rath, her whole life revolves around obsessing over and maligning someone who doesn't even know she's alive every single chance she gets. Ya know Rathy honey, the more you talk about her the more OrFAKE who overreacts in every scene and thankfully saves the fledgling show along with her equally fake husband, the more you raise her profile on the illustrious Broadwayworld. But you'd know that if you would take your head out of you ass for five minutes and think about something, anything else. It's too far lodged though, isn't it? I'm impressed, a thread about grosses even turns into yet another Orfeh thread! She's a STAR, even bigger than Deborah Cox.
What's wrong Tazber, she wasn't nice enough to you at the stage door? Rathnait, from how obvious she makes it, is nothing but a sad sack who never realized any of her dreams and hates just about everyone who has and has all sorts of imaginary "famous friends" oh and I've seen her picture and if I was feeling exceptionally mean spirited today, I'd post it here but that would probably give her more play than she's had in years. I'm sure she'd get discovered immediately and be hounded to play Elle Woods.
This is a thread about Blonde and our "prognostications" about how long it may or may not last. I suggest you take your other issues (Tazber/Rathnait) to your therapists where they belong.
I love you Aldente and I miss you but I get it, boy do I get it and have been trying to follow your lead and keeping my visits here to a minimum.
"What's wrong Tazber, she wasn't nice enough to you at the stage door"? lol to Grand Motel.

Oh dear, did I hit a nerve kiddies?
I'm laughing and saying "What ahole would use the word prognostications on this board."
Then I sobered up.
I prognosticate it was moi.
Pompous twit.
How annoying is Orfeh in LEGALLY BLONDE?
Everyone can be annoying...it's a fun, ditzy musical! What do you expect? Serious and emotional performances? I love it to death but come on, you can't expect the part of Orfeh to be subtle. She's an amazing entertainer...and got nominated for, what was it, 3 awards for her performance? Yeah.

She's so annoying she annoyed 3 separate nominating committees into nominating her for the 3 most highly coveted award nominations the world of theater has. Stagemanager2 are you any closer to gainful employment yet or is this it?
Al, I miss you too! How true your 'prognostications' about Orfeh were and continue to be, it's simply fascinating.
The fact that the show got nominated for ANYTHING bothers and bewilders me.
Wanna Be I was there too and the Orchestra was half empty as well.
"The fact that the show got nominated for ANYTHING bothers and bewilders me."
Right, but I feel like you feel like you're defaulted to not like a musical like Legally Blonde a chance. I may be wrong, but there are a lot of people who have never seen it and say it's awful. Or just shows like it. They just say they dislike it because it's not "quality theater". But I like entertainment on stage, whether it's a traditional musical or play, or a fun campy one. I just wish people were more open minded to FUN and didn't take everything so seriously.
Now, I may be wrong and you are allowed to genuinely not like it, and that's not my place to tell you you're opinion. I'm just, sort of, I dunno...observing?

I love how the Orfeh fanatics descend on anyone who DARES insult Orfeh.
OK first of all i cant even be arsed to read MassofMen (or whatever the hell he is called) comments as he just plain hates the show.
2nd if the weekly nut for the show is around 600 thousand a week then the show is doing fine. Its gross is normally higher than most shows, its tickets sold is normally higher than most shows, yes its in a bigger theatre but that does not add a massive amount more to what it has to pay for a bigger theatre.
Also you are forgetting LB merchandise which sells well and adds on to what it makes each week (which wont be added in to its gross on here)
The show is doing fine especially for the winter season
I have seen pretty well every musical that has played on Broadway since the original Camelot and Gypsy.
I can't help it, I loved the show. It was big and fun and oh, so American.
There is nothing wrong with the "can do" attitude that America has given the world for the last century. This is the story of a Malibu girl who discovers she can be so much more. We should all embrace that.
And Orfeh found her way. I personally loved her performance. She has a wonderful voice, with all sorts of richness and depth. I mean, come on, she makes "Ireland" sound plaintive. Have you heard it in the hands of the understudy? If you can sell that song with its ridiculous (intentionally) lyrics, you deserve every award you're nominated for.
I was also recently impressed by the three cheese Youtube video of three different Emmetts with Laura Bell Bundy (BTW, did you notice how she subtle changes her performance with each one?)
I could go on and on. For some reason, I left the theater feeling better after this show than I have in a good, long time.
I saw it on MTV in November with my whole family. That made them want to see it! I think any TV exposure for any Brodway show is a good thing. Makes the whole country aware.
