My friend said it was the best musical since well EVER.
He hated Fun Home.
Adored Hamilton and raved about Finding Neverland

Between Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 and a possible Dear Evan Hansen transfer, I think there is about a 0% chance this will happen.
If no other musical opened in the season, this still would not be nominated.

Don't even kid yourself that anything will have the Tony sewn up a year in advance. Remember, Hamilton is an anomaly.
They should have 2 best musical categories this year . Best and Could Have Been The Best Except ...

I actually think this is kind of clever. The runner up in every category could get a certificate stating that if Hamilton hadn't been eligible, they would have won!

Well I'd maybe advocate for that if we had another Fun Home this year. As it stands, the new musicals other than Hamilton have received a rather mixed response. I think this is definitely the year for revivals (+ Hamilton).

You mean the Tonys in 2017? I don't know. I'm kind of hoping for an Anastasia win, because I practically grew up at Hartford Stage.

I'll always be rooting for the Great Comet, even though I'm just basing it off the Off-Broadway Cast Recording ![]()
