I’d think rush would have a negligible effect on grosses. I mean both successful and unsuccessful shows have rush. Plus if rush lines are huge, that would be a sign of great word-of-mouth/enthusiasm for the show plus great free advertising. If you can’t tell, I’m really hoping for this to be a success. My threefavorite jukebox musicals (American Idiot, Moulin Rouge!, and, to a lesser extent, Mamma Mia) are not bio-musicals. Of course, it depends on whether they’ve fine-tunedthe story. I’m also excited for Tina so I suppose it also is about being a fan of both artists’ musical output. Of course, I also love Donna Summer’s music and loved some of Cher’s, but reported problems with the books kept me away. At this point however, I don’t think anything could keep me away from JLP or Tina."
Oh I'm totally with you!! I hope it's a success as well! On a whim I bought a ticket to the ART production, and as soon as it was over I was like, this better transfer to Broadway!! I'm so so thrilled that it's coming. Are you seeing it this month?
