I saw a very rough cut. They were still working on it and I am not a big fan of the show itself. So I don't think a review from me at this point would be fair. If you scroll back like 4 pages on the Mojito thread I did say something more specific. On a scale of 1 to 10.. at that pont I gave it a 4. But by the time it opens.. who knows.

I also want to add..that no one is talking about the other big movie musical opening this season which I also have seen. "The Producers" is hysterical. Nathan Lane should get a oscar nomination.

I'm not all that excited for "The Producers". I will see it sure, though I'll probably wait until it hits video. I am sure it's going to be funny, but it was a pretty safe bet anyway.

Don't be worried. I am sure you will enjoy it. And it is also just my opinion. If you liked the show you will probaly like the movie but still prefr the show. Enjoy.

Well it's obvious there are tons of Rentheads on this board, so ofcourse they're posting up a storm about this movie.

But I am more excited for The Producers, and I know others are too!

I think Producers will do really well with the adult demographic and the awards circuit. I think Rent has the possibility of doing well withteenagers and college age students. ( again.. just my opinion and god knows I have been wrong before)

RENT WILL probably do better with high school and college students b/c it appeals to them more than it would to a 50 year old. just keep advertising SONY, that way everyone will at least express interest!!!

I can totally see RENT being another ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW, with sold-out midnight shows and audience members reacting to and singing along with what's going on onscreen.

Nathan Lane once remarked that he expected to see "PRODUCERS Action Figures" - I wouldn't mind a Producers Coloring Book and Paper Doll Book as well (lots of movies had these in the 1940s and '50s).

"Christ, Bette Davis?!?!"
