No, not completely, but the Nov. 6th performance is (tonight). Donna Murphy has been advised by her physician not to perform. They are going to try to open back up ASAP. Doesn't she have an understudy or because it is so soon in the previews they want the show to be performed by Donna?

Cue Mr. Roxy for his obligatory line that this will make "the critics" start circling.

Let's hope she doesn't get the same treatment that Bernadette got.

And what kind of treatment was that? Being out so much in previews?
Wow! I wonder what could be so awful that they have to cancel for a while and not send her understudy on?
Her understudy has probably not been rehearsed yet.
I thought the same thing, but I suspect that this early in on any production, the understudies might not be ready. (I don't know if this is true).
Believe me, the only reason they canceled this performance is because she is ill---she and the show are great. =)
Hope Murphy mends. The season needs her, clearly.
In the meantime, send over Kristin Chenoweth to play Ruth -- the Times will feel she's finally got a role worthy of her talents.
Not to sound shillish (lol), but my roomie told me that some friends of his saw the show last night, and were raving about her and the show. They sat near a gentleman who saw the original production--he thought that Donna was better than Rosalind Russell (who originated the role).
Since I have tickets to Sunday's performance, I called frantically but they couldn't know if she'd be appearing or if the show would go on. I'm ferklempt!!!!!
Shame on you for scaring me with the title of this thread!

Donna has already played the part at Encores. She should know what to expect both vocally and energy wise. I wonder what happened.
It hasn't anything to do with endurance--there are colds going around. I would have never guessed she was feeling ill when I saw her. =)

Didn't your mother teach you anything? It has everything to do with endurance. If a person is worn down and tired, their body's defenses are low and it's much easier to get sick.
While that may be true--everyone gets sick. And, I don't think you can blame her for getting sick.
The thread title scared me too! Ahh! I'll recover.
Health comes first. A lot of people seem to get sick at this time of year, maybe it's the cold weather?
I nearly died when I saw the title for this thread. Thank you for that.
Linda Mugleston is Donna's understudy, I believe, so the role would be in extremely capable hands if any situation arose, but true, she probably hasn't rehearsed yet.

An understudy rehearsal with her this afternoon was canceled...but they are working with her privately in case she needs to go on really quick, in case Donna can't get back this weekend.

Since Mugleston is also in the show, she probably wasn't rehearsed as Ruth before yesterday.
Fosca and Anna were huge roles. In PASSION at least Murphy missed only one weekend of performances for a family wedding that she had made arrangements for before the show opened. That info was courtesy of the fascinating commentary on the PASSION DVD.
