Apparently, "the street" can't spell.

Is it funny if a little girl doesn't know who Mel Brooks is?

And with $450 premium tickets, is anyone REALLY surprised they'll supposedly recoup so soon?

It isn't word from the street if it is "inside information" from an employee.

Did you know who Mel Brooks was when YOU were ten years old? (Wait...that depends on how old you are now.)

I remember days
Or at least I try
But as years go by
They're sort of haze
And the bluest ink
Isn't really sky
And at times I think
I would gladly die
For a day of sky

And Starbucks will use the words 'large' and 'small', not pretentious crap like grande and tall.

The guy sitting behind me last week was paging through his playbill and told his companion that Sarah Foster was in this show, and that she had been the Drowsy Chaperone.

This may have just been a one-time deal, but at the lottery for the matinee today (yes there was a matinee today) the lotto guy said that everyone who didn't win a chance to buy the front row seats would be offered dress circle tickets at 26.50. I was lucky enough to win the lotto, but I think it's great that they had that offer.

Apparently, almost everyone in that lottery won... who knew there was a matinee?!

Maybe I'm a little slow but I didn't know who Mel Brooks was until I was at least 14 and that was only because Men in Tights had just come out. I don't know many kids who currently would know who he was.

Because the guy who runs the lotto would SURELY know if the show was close to recouping....

It's not hard to figure out, if you know what the sales are.

Is it common for most shows to have shows on Tuesday night as well? I always thought it was Wed-Sunday shows.

Most shows have Tues.-Sun. schedules. A few do Wed-Sun. (with an extra Sunday show), and a couple, like Phantom, do Mon-Sat shows.

Generally, only Disney shows do the Wed-Sun sched, because not a lot of parents take their kids on Tuesday nights. More people go to matinees for Lion King and Mary Poppins.
I like that she didn't know who Mel Brooks is. It's mildly humorous to me, because his name is in the title of the show only because of his perceived public persona, which isn't really how the public perceives him at all. And the children are here to keep pointing that out.

I actually did, for my father was big on comedy and Mel Brooks and I knew all the dialogue from The Producers!

The default schedule on Broadway is indeed a Tuesday-Sunday schedule. However, we're seeing a bigger trend in Wednesday-Sunday as of late, I think, but most shows usually switch to such a schedule after a year if they ever do.
How to properly use its/it's:
Its is the possessive. It's is the contraction for it is...

Actually, I don't blame a 10 year old for not knowing who he is... he isn't some household name.

I bet more ten year olds know osama bin laden then they would know Mel Brooks.

What's funny is a 9 year old girl singing the Avenue Q theme in a broadway store.
He's a faker, and you've been taken in by his con. And in doing so, you are enabling him. He is doing more damage to aspergers than papa's words ever could. -Chane/Liverpool on me having asperger syndrome.

"But, we were laughing about not knowing who Mel Brooks is."
Well, I worked with a young lady who was the star of the show, and she had no idea who Patti LuPone was.
Everything Patti had done and was known for, she did before this person was born.
People aren't born with knowledge, they have to work for it.
