Take a breath next time you type. Or think.
That run-on sentence wore me out...

Posted: 10/13/07 at 9:11pmA lot of requests doesn't mean it's necessarily a good show...it just means that the show is a tourist attraction.

Posted: 10/13/07 at 9:23pmI wasn't implying that the show was good or bad. Just saying he has been getting a lot of requests.

The guy is probably right... tourists are going to eat it up no matter what. I thought the show was ok, not great. Had I paid $100 to see it, I would have been disappointed. Too many jokes are stale and the show is just too long. Cast is great though.
I think most people will convince themselves that it was great because of how much money they spent. Kinda the same way crowds these days seem to give every show a standing ovation partially to convince themselves that they spent their money well. I'm still caught off-guard when people start standing for a mediocre show because they think it's the thing to do.
Then, like a tool, I eventually stand up too so I don't look like I'm sitting in protest.

No surprise, Broadway now attracts the laziest, stupid people on earth. They want to see shows that they already know the plots and most of the punch lines. That way they don't really have to listen or think.
Legally Blond also proves this point. The brain dead tween crowd loves it.

Posted: 10/13/07 at 10:50pmugh, I dont' care...the show itself is bad and I'm never going again...simple as that.

Posted: 10/13/07 at 11:04pmThis is fairly shocking, as I didn't know commoners were allowed inside the theatre any more.

To the poster who said people are stupid as they know the punch line.
Does this apply to those who see a show 30 or 40 times ?

I've been an outcast. I was at one time down-trodden. Then I was part of the little people. Now I'm common. I aspire to one day be unique. Ahhh well, live and dream.

Posted: 10/14/07 at 6:34pmmisschung-yes, but hopefully we (the BWW posters) aren't the people who will be going to see YF 3 or 4 times... I'd like to think we see as many shows as we can and represent those with varied tastes, and open minds...not just people who go see something because they saw the movie and know all the jokes.

Posted: 10/14/07 at 6:45pmI don't have any desire to see YF even once. Spamalot with the OBC was my guilty pleasure. I saw it three times and loved it. It's probably the flaw in my character that will keep me common and not able to graduate into unique-ness.
