I was just about to post an update to let you know that due to the wonderful reviews and amazing ticket sales, we've extended through May 20th...but I see James did it for me. Thanks, James!

Oh, wow, thanks, DezBryner! I really appreciate that!
We're having a fantastic time doing the show. And now that we've extended, there are still some seats available to purchase (that final week is your best bet, of course).
The reviews have been really great across the board, so we're all very excited. Thanks for adding yours!
Thanks, Phantom2!
P.S. If anyone is interested in reading the reviews, the links to them are all posted in one convenient place on my bio:

P.S. DezBryner, you forgot to mention Russell Harvard, who is awesome as the Orderly/Groundskeeper's Son!
I was in Culver City about a week and a half ago and I spent a few hours at the Starbucks right down the street!
If only I had known!

You're right Erika!! He did an awesome job! Those four actors that only sign are absolutely entralling.
I never saw Big River, but remember thinking how amazing it was that that show had the longevity that it had. Every time I turned around there was another production of Big River going on. It seemed to run forever....now I understand why. If it was done in this same manner, it is just a totally engaging concept of story telling. But even above that was the quality level of the performers. Superb!!

I saw this show this past saturday- and let me just say it was absolutely incredible!
I am majoring in Deaf Studies, and currently in my 3rd year of ASL classes. I have also been performing in musical theater since I was 9. At the end of the first act, when the lights came on for intermission- I looked at my friends and I said, "I want to do that!"
Erika, may I ask how you got involved in DeafWest? You were absolutely amazing by the way (during the full ensemble song near the end- when you were signing with the patients and voicing for Deanna....incredible)
Is there talk about recording a cd for purchase?
I will be seeing at least 1 more show before closing... What a groundbreaking event this is for the hearing and deaf community.
If you have the chance, go see this show!!
Yeah I highly doubt there will be a cast recording They didn't do it for Big River either. I guess they may think it would be unfair for the deaf actors (not being able to take any credit).

No, we didnt meet after the show. I did recieve a phone call after, though, from a friend saying the cast was coming out from the stage door-- but unfortunately it was too late to run back. I will absolutely make sure I say hi next time! (Ill prob be coming on a thursday night show next time around)
Its a bummer about the cast recording. There are so many songs that during the show I was thinking to myself, "man- Id love to be able to sing along to this in my car"
Its also a bummer that there isnt a cast recording for Big River. I thought maybe one didnt come out because of copyrights or something along those lines? I was hoping that because Sleeping Beauty Wakes is an individually created show, one would be possible. (I didnt get the chance to see Big River live..but Ill admit to seeing a very poorly recorded bootleg video.. Holy moly. Lite2shine-- lovely lovely user name)
Anyways. Enough rambling.
This show is amazing. Go see it. Yadda yadda yadda. Erika Im jealous. Yadda yadda yadda. =)
HOORAY!! Break a leg, Erika. And if a cd is ever in the works, please let us know so I can make sure to purchase one.

Just posting a few more pics, 'cause I was asked to. (Sorry the sizes are all different. And I can't figure out how to post multiple pics in one message, so I apologize for that as well.)

I saw "Big River" when it came through Denver and was pretty much blown away! I hope I have a chance to see this production also. Congrats Erika. Is there any talk of taking this to New York or a tour? (Pre-B'way?!) After hearing about your voice, I now want to hear it live! And on a side note...I did go to your site and you are georgeous!!!! Congrats again!
