Ummm
Best Shows Now: Wicked, Avenue Q, Caroline, Boy From Oz (basically all the nominees)
Worst shows now: Dracula (Ive only heard some songs, so I reallu cant judge)....actually thats it, they're all pretty good actually. Now that I think about it, what is everyone complaining about on this board lol? Not directed to u BroadwayIntheBigCity, I love these posts :)
Dracula was my #2 pick.
I have not seen a show on Broadway, but going by the recording......WONDERFUL TOWN
Yeah the vocals on wonderful town aren't very good. But the word is Donna Murphy is better live.
True. It is all in the show, I guess......but I CAN NOT listen to that recording. Anyway, I saw BOMBAY DREAMS in London and loved it. If you take it as it being like a Bollywood movie, then it is more enjoyable (I have not seen the broadway version) but the London version was great.
Whos on First? what's so bad about Mamma Mia?
Do you just not like ABBA?

"I wash my face, then drink beer, then I weep. Say a prayer and induce insincere self-abuse, till I'm fast asleep"- In Trousers
Am I The only one who liked Wicked's Book?
I loved the Maguire novel. The book for the musical though- feh!
"I wash my face, then drink beer, then I weep. Say a prayer and induce insincere self-abuse, till I'm fast asleep"- In Trousers

No Im with you. I love the book. It's funny, sad, moving...everything. The only thing is is that the wizard and fiyero are a little underdeveloped. other than that i love it. It must have been so hard for her to pick out what was needed and what wasnt and figure out the staging and put it all together for a 2 hour 45 minute show
#3 Mamma Mia
#2 Dracula
and number 1.....................drumroll please...............
Bombay Dreams
Here's all the musicals I've heard weren't that great:
Dracula
Bombay Dreams
Wonderful Town
No such thing. To each his own. For every show you don't like there are legions of loyal fans who love it. Because of that, theatre is still alive today.
take us to church CATS. Preach on!!!
i havn't despised any of the shows which are currently running, but i have to say that "Jekyll and Hyde" was the worst thing i've ever sat through! terrible acting, terrible score (with a few exception that didn't redeam the whole) terrible lyrics, horredous staging, etc. etc. etc.
I love the Jekyll and Hyde concept recording. Linda Eder and Anthony Warlow on one cd..........HEAVEN!!!
Ick. Even Eder, who I'll admit has an amazing voice, can't redeem the show for me.
I can see why you don't like it......so to each his/her own. If it wasn't for Eder and Warlow, I probably wouldn't have liked it as much. Anything Warlow is in I will love.
