Posted: 3/13/08 at 8:06pmWhat about Lane as the monster ad libbing?
#4re: Would This Stunt Casting Help Young Frankenstein?
Posted: 3/13/08 at 8:07pmI'd go see Lane in that role. I think he'd be hilarious.

Posted: 3/13/08 at 8:23pmBroderick probably should have originated the role. I would entertain seeing the show to a far greater degree if he and Nathan Lane were in, no doubt.

Isn't stunt casting when they take a non-musical theatre performer and put them in a Broadway show?
I wouldn't consider that "stunt casting".
If it is, then every musical theatre performer who has ever replaced a performer in a Broadway show would be "stunt casted", which as we all know, hasn't happened.

Posted: 3/13/08 at 8:37pmI was goofing around with this. It is interesting to see how many people would actually consider it.

I love the idea
Matthew wold be fabulous in the role.
Nathan would have a blast, I know he would. But he's doing well in NOVEMBER
That said, it sure wouldn't be "stunt casting."

Posted: 3/13/08 at 8:58pmNathan as the monster? What a waste of his talent.

Posted: 3/13/08 at 9:01pmBroderick was set for the role, but Brooks was less than happy with his line troubles during Odd Couple.

Posted: 3/13/08 at 9:06pmHmmm....I'd see it. And perhaps Paris Hilton as Inga? But in all seriousness, I'd go see Lane And Broderick. I'd love to see it. Quite interested!
-Jeff Bowen's worst onstage line flub.

#17re: Would This Stunt Casting Help Young Frankenstein?
Posted: 3/13/08 at 10:30pmI just imagine doing his schtick as the monster.

Posted: 3/13/08 at 10:54pmi remember during out of town or previews there was a heavy rumor that they were in last minute emergency negotiations to replace roger bart with matthew. i have no idea if they were true or just internet theories, but i feel he'd be better than scenery-chewing bart.

In my opinion.....
Matthew Broderick is the perfect mediocre actor for this mediocre show.
AND
Nathan Lane has too much talent to bother with this piece of sh*t.
