If you're already starring in a show on Broadway, and you're doing your best 8 shows a week, then negative posts on a message board shouldn't bother you. There are always going to be people who don't like you in life, no matter what you do. If you believe/expect otherwise, you're going to have a very hard time.

I'm a very resilient person, and I probably wouldn't be all to offended by any negative posts anyway. Even if someone said something insulting enough to tick me off, I'd defend my name in some inconspicious manner. It sounds superficial, but I'd want to set things straight, claiming to be some fan who e-mailed myself...or something.

This is my signature.

Avatar big enough, BEKA?
Nothing precious, plain to see, don't make a fuss over me. Not loud, not soft, but somewhere inbetween. Say sorry, just let it be the word you mean.

I might . . .

. . . but I'd proabably cry a lot

Seriously, it would depend on whether I was getting an honest critique of a performance or just personal abuse. Of course, I'd have to read it to find out, by which time it's too late!

To be honest I really don't think I would because I wouldn't want to hear negative things about myself. I know the critics have things to say also but I don't even think I would read that. I think being a 'star' on broadway you have so many things to worry about and you need to concentrate on your performance not what people are and aren't saying about you. If you're still performing you have got to be doing something right. I dunno that's just my personal opinion. But I also feel like from time to time I would be highly tempted to see what people really thought of me, but who wouldn't?

Also being a 'star' on broadway there isn't really much time for surfing the internet. I'm sure when they do get time off they aren't at home on the computer. They are probably catching up on sleep or visiting family and friends.

There are probably some 'stars' who check the board from time to time but I'm sure it's not on a daily basis or even weekly for that matter.

Just read some of these "fan sighting" threads. Would these people want to read a Broadway Teen Beat?

I would like to be able to but I think I wouldn't. My problem would be with remembering to take everything said here with a grain of salt.

just a question.... based on the fact that most people wouldn't read bww, due to 'mean people', don't u think maybe we should try limiting the bashing? think about the people who ARE reading this who ARE on bway.

I agree, the bashing can get our of hand. Some of the things people say on this site are extremely rude, and inconsidreate. That's why we're scaring everyone away. Good point!

I would read it. I'm a huge attention whore. When I find out people are talking about me behind my back, even if hhey're sayign mean things, I usually get really happy.

re: Would you read BWW if you were a star?

I would like to think I would not come to this board if I were a "name"...but something in me says I would probably take a peek...often. If I saw something that was written in serious error about me I would probably post like a "fan" who has the inside scope to set things straight.

No, but I would hire someone to read it for me.

I guess so but I don't bare negativ critics and after a while I would be very fat because ice cream is the best medicine.

re: Would you read BWW if you were a star?

It depends... if I were as well-known as, say, Idina or someobdy, I would read but not post. If I were just a piddly little chorus girl or a supporting actress, yes, I would do both.

If I become a Broadway star, I'd probably continue reading but would be too busy answering fanmail to post
