'He is bringing a touring production of Flashdance to the West End and a stage version of Xanadu is in the pipeline'.
Thanks for that, I enjoyed reading the link, I put the main quote above, I will look forward to see Xanadu, have to get Mama to give me a low down if it is any good though!!
New here but as huge Cheyenne/Xanadu fan I figured I'd chime in. Cheyenne was slated for another show (forget the name of it currently) but with some many things cancelling here in NYC don't know if its still in the works, I'm actually going to watch a taping for a Siruis radio show tomorrow where he's being interviewed hopefully the talk of his upcoming projects will be discussed.
As far as the comment about NY Jewish humor I totally do not get this at all. It takes place in California with a fake Austalian Muse,I didn't see anything NY and especially not Jewish about it. Can you give a reference to what you mean?
I saw the show on Broadway. Mary testa and Jackie Hoffman's characters brought a very definite vibe to the show- I loved it, but I'm not sure it will transfer to the mainstream in London. Cos dumb it ain't!

The touring cast definitely have a different take on the characters and are receiving great reviews, so who knows?

I saw this in NY and loved every minute of it. It is, as said above, a brilliant adaptation of a pretty awful source! BUT its one of the best nights ive ever had in the theatre, and yes Jackie Hoffman is jewish- but its not a big part of the show. That character is defined by the actress- for a short period Whoopie Goldberg covered Jackie Hoffman and was, apparantly, amazing- and played it completely different!
This is one show I hope comnes to london, its so feel good and would be great for the economy if it did well!
