Well, I arrived at the theatre at 3:30pm and there was just one other guy out front (WonderRobbie). Talked to my GODS at the box office, waited and waited and waited. Finally, Olivia Newton-John showed up, signed my DVD and went inside. Mario Cantone and Cynthia Nixon were also there. Robbie and I got interviewed for CNN and Logo and THEN, the best people ever in the world, the staff at the Helen Hayes came out and grabbed us. We, ladies and gentlemen, were brought in to the theatre to watch the opening night performance of Xanadu. TO DIE FOR!!! Afterwards, two of the producers gave us passes to the after party, where we danced and drank the night away with stars and cast and generally celebrated good reviews. It was the bestest night EV-AR

sounds like you had a great time (he said, understating just a bit). also sounds like a show i might actually enjoy.
i remember seeing the movie in an empty theatre on the upper east side and thinking, wow, what a campy musical THIS would make! you make it seem like it will live up to my twisted expectations.
Hey, congratulations! You guys are superfANADUS and you deserved those tickets!
Good for you wheelsinmotion (and WonderRobbie)!
I guess they wanted to keep the true fans happy.
Totally cool!! What an experience!!
Congrats to you & WondeRobbie & the whole cast. That's just great. I'm jeally you got to go to the show & party. It must've been a truely special evening.
And thanks to Craig for putting the video up of the final bows with ONJ joining the cast onstage. Bravo to you all!
I'm still in awe... words cannot express what I experienced last night... :o)
honestly, WonderRobbie, if anyone deserved to be at Xanadu's opening night, it was you. Congrats and can't wait to hear the details.
I'm so jealous you guys got to go! I was standing right next to you guys I think.
By the way, I was very happy to see James and his wife there last night - because quite frankly (and I told him this) - he had every reason to celebrate with the cast and crew for all the hard work he has and will do on the show. A very humble James was hesitant to get in front of the cameras too - not wanting to (in my estimation) take focus away from Cheyenne. Fortunately, he did, indeed, go in front of the press...
Thanks for mentioning James, Craig. I was wondering about him. What an unfortunate situation.
I got some pictures of Olivia Newton-John - pretty close ones too. She looks amazing for her age.
I forgot to add, I also saw Stephanie Block, who looked stunning, and Cynthia Nixon.
Pictures people, we want pictures!
...very soon
Thanks guys! Sorry Craig, I am just a wee bit impatient today!)
