Is this tonight?

"Winning a Tony this year is like winning Best Attendance in third grade: no one will care but the winner and their mom."
-Kad

"I have also met him in person, and I find him to be quite funny actually. Arrogant and often misinformed, but still funny."
-bjh2114 (on Michael Riedel)

It's just going to be Mel Brooks?

No cast members?

That's bizarre.

Yes it's just him, which I agree is quite weird.

Maybe that's why it's hardly being publicized.

When shows have CD signings, there tends to be a piece about it on Playbill.com on the day of the signing to remind people.

There's nothing there today.

I wonder how many people will show up expecting to see the cast and *gasp* a performance from the musical, instead of an old man sitting in a chair.

I'm going...but I'm not excited about it anymore. I thought the cast would be there too.

There was a 1/3 page ad in this past Sunday's Times Arts and Leisure section.

I guess since it's a Tuesday and they have a show? I don't know...probably nothing to do with that since a lot of shows seem to do it on Tuesday or Thursday. But then isn't it earlier? I don't know...I'm babbling.

Mel Brooks was very nice...and the place was PACKED! The line was moving extremely slowly because Mel was personalizing everyone's CDs. I got one done for me and one for my friend...and he also signed my Producers CD cover. It was kind of hectic, but I'm glad I went. It's not every day you get to meet Mel Brooks.

Glad to hear. I have to check on ebay now.

He's a faker, and you've been taken in by his con. And in doing so, you are enabling him. He is doing more damage to aspergers than papa's words ever could. -Chane/Liverpool on me having asperger syndrome.

Did anyone ask him why there were no performers or a performance from the show?

No one asked him that publicly, but maybe they did while they were talking to him individually.

I know that YF started at 7pm today, and Mel was going to be signing from 5pm to 7pm, so I don't think the performers would have been able to stay anyway.

I had a really good time tonight at this event. Mel did a riff about people singing a song from "Dancing in the Dark" and bombing with it by starting out too high. He then demonstrated. I can't really describe it well but it was quite funny.

I got there about 1:30 and was about the 15th person there. long wait but worth it. He did do a speal about the Jewish singing Dancing in the Dark too high. I taped it and going to put it on youtube soon.

I got one cd personalized and three extras (two for friends and an extra one for whatever).

supposedly, if you send Mel Brooks anything to sign, he wont do it. And he doesn't sign if you catch him outside the theatre. So this was a pretty big event.

You must remember all the same that at the crux of every game is knowing when it's time to leave the table... And it's important to be artful in your exit. No turning back, you must accept the con is done... It was a ball, it was a blast. And it's a shame it couldn't last. But every chapter has to end, you must agree.

oh how cool is he!

Norbert Leo Butz quotes about John Lithgow: "He's really clumsy. One of the joys in life is to watch a great big huge man totally wipe out backstage. It takes John about three minutes to hit the floor. It's like watching a Great Sequoia falling gracelessly."
