This Wednesday, April 10, SMASH has received another unnecessary thread. Don't know whether this is a "permanent" trend.

I'm thinking BWW's on NBC's payroll.

I'll take a Smash thread over a "Why did _________ close?" or "Why did _________ win a Tony over _________?" thread any day.
That's because those are harder for you to wreak havoc in kind sir. :-P
Which reminds me...
Why did BOMBSHELL close?

That's a trick question. Bombshell hasn't opened yet!
Smash confuses me because in their Broadway world Bernadette Peters never existed. Who played Dot? Who played Mabel? Who replaced Buckley as the Witch? It all hurts my head.

Why did the Morning Farm Report win an Emmy over Smash?
Because watching pigs sh1t is more entertaining that Smash.

The ReNt poster that's constantly over Jesse L Martin's head must really vex yoU!
I don't even watch SMASH and I'M caught up the drama of "will-the-last-episodes-air-and-if-so-WHEN-do they-air?" The scheduling seems to have as many plot twists as the show itself.
Oh that drove me nuts too! And the Bernadette Peters revival of Gypsy was still running last season (without Peters) per a scene in Time Square!
Though since their other musical is still playing The Shubert that means Memphis never existed, so I'm okay with that one.
I do enjoy the NYTW Rent Poster hanging over JLM's head all the time. Although, Phyllis. Surely you know that he wasn't in that production of Rent.
Also, I believe that Bernadette Peters does exist in the world of Smash. It just isn't Ivy's mom - though they do look a lot alike. It's a Sarah Jessica Parker/Horse from 2 Broke Girls thing. It takes a little suspension of disbelief.

Does Meryl Streep exist in the world of The Iron Lady?
My best friend tunes in to SMASH and this is his take on the latest scheduling move: "And it’s deliberate! NBC really really REALLY wants to make sure they can get rid of this show on the basis that no one’s watching."
Does American Idol exist? How about 9 TO 5? And let's not even talk about WICKED with Hilty!
But they basically already got rid of it. They don't need to justify cancelling it by moving it around, it is precisely because it's already dead that they can afford to play with it so easily.
This all getting too meta for me to handle.

I do like the idea of a world where Katharine McPhee doesn't exist.
Does Ruthie Ann Miles as Imelda Marcos exist? Does Gloria Reuben as Condoleeza Rice exist? Did Tovah Feldshuh REALLY do GYPSY?

I like to think Derek directed Wicked.
Did Tovah Feldshuh REALLY do GYPSY?
Remember when she was definitely going to win the Tony for IRENA'S VOW? Maybe in the world of SMASH she did.

I don't know which I'd rather have: dead-eyes former American Idol contestant Katharine McPhee, or dead-eyes, probably going to win a Tony because she's a "star" Karen Cartwright.
In SMASH she's probably doing The Pirate Queen.
I like to think of a world where Andrew Lloyd Webber's non-biblical shows don't exist.
