So, here's a neat little thread to share and comment on your dream casts for revivals of shows that you think could use a revival. Here's mine:

I'm not sure about casting, but I'd love a Cabaret revival and a Millie revival

Follies with City Center Cast! (or at least Donna Murphy, Victoria Clark, and Victor Garber, in their respective roles).

A Little Night Music with Christine Ebersole and Angela Lansbury (or Mary Louise Wilson, if not Lansbury).

Sweeney Todd (original Staging) starring Bernadette Peters as Mrs. Lovett (if not Peters then Ebersole).

I agree with Zanna, Don't, but different cast.

Danny Calvert as Zanna, Makyla Smith as Kate, Tory Ross as Roberta, Telly Leung as Mike, Curtis Holbrook as Steve and Dennis Moench as Tank.

Danny Calvert is amazing. I feel like "Zanna, Don't" was basically written for him.

I'm obsessed with his voice.

:) I saw him play Zanna in L.A. and thought he was completely brilliant, much better than Jai Rodriguez was Off-Broadway, by far. His voice is incredible.

Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.

Definitely Follies with the Encores! cast (minus Christine Baranski, she just didnt work as Carlotta)

I havent given much thought about cast, but I really want a revival of The Mystery of Edwin Drood and City of Angels

Isn't it a little early for you to come into another thread and ruin it?


back on topic -- Kelly2, I also think Danny was so much more FABulous than Jai. he really just worked it up there, on stage. and sang the **** out of it! he needs to get on Broadway ASAP.
