Going off of the NYTimes article. Say what would be your fantasy revival of a musical. Also state what would be your perfect cast for this show.
I'm still thinking about mine. While I'm thinking, you guys write what your fantasy revival is.
Clay Aiken as Milky White
Donna Murphy in ANYTHING GOES, which may very well be happening next season.
Let me just throw in the usuals:
Angela Lansbury in "A Little Night Music"
Leslie Kritzer in "Funny Girl"
OK, those are out of the way.
I know it's playing right how, but I'd love to see a revival of GYPSY in the years to come with Tonya Pinkins as Rose, but I doubt that would ever happen commercially.
Raul Esparza or Brian Stokes Mitchell with Anne Hathaway in "Carnival"
No Strings,
Barbara Woodruff: Anika Noni Rose, Beyonce, or Heather Headley
David Jordan: Victor Garber, Richard Gere, or Brent Barrett
Mike Robinson: Marc Kudisch or Steven Pasquale
Comfort O'Connell: Emily Skinner or Jenny Powers
Mollie Plummer: Debbie Gravitte
The people match up with each other. For example Beyonce with Gere or Kudisch with Skinner.

Mmm..Hmmm..mleeh...Hmm..Mmmm
Ok I'll just say it.
I wish with all of my heart that The History Boys would come back to Broadway with the original cast. It's just that that show touched me so profoundly at quite a young age that everytime I attend the theatre, if I don't get that feeling, I just can't appreciate the show. It sounds bad and overly judgemental on my part, but so far I've seen no show that holds a candle to what I was faced with after The History Boys. But shouldn't that be theatre's purpose anyway? To challenge you?
Annd after that was finally let out..
Honestly, I can't think of anything else on the top of my head. I'll ponder it.
Damn, jewishboy, you're like ready to direct it, aren't you?
Once Upon A Mattress with
Barrett Foa as Prince Dauntless
Philip Bosco as the King
Celia Keenan Bolger as Winnifred
Manoel Felciano as Harry
Kelli O'Hara as Larkin
Debra Monk or Christine Ebersole as Queen
Anything Goes with
Megan Mullally as Reno
Raul Esparza as Billy
Erin Davie as Hope
Me if I was 50 as Evelyn (I really can't think of anyone)
Michael McKean as Moonface

A Little Night Music
Desiree- Emma Thompson
Henrik- Brian Charles Rooney (so amazing!)
Carl-Magnus- Marc Kudisch
Charlotte- Julia Murney
theaterkid1015, Yes I am. But, if I'm not available I would be more than happy if Rob Marshall directed in my place!
Basically I miss Beauty and the Beast because I didn't get to see it. =( So I would love for that to come back and Belle be played by Christina DeCicco. That would be ideal.
A Little Night Music with Lauren Bacall as Desiree (haha yes I know she may be just a teensy bit too old for the part, but I'd die.)

The Wiz with Anika Noni Rose as Dorothy
Mame with Lauren Graham as Mame and either Megan Mullaly or Joan Cusack as Vera Charles, and Marc Kudisch as Beau
A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC with Angela Lansbury or Mary Louise Wilson as Madame Armfeldt. This show needs to be done again.
Haha Husk, you beat me too it.
I was about to suggest a 'Mame' revival...but with who?
I think if she were still here, Dorothy Loudon would have made an amazing Mame. I don't know if anyone could match Lansbury's interpretation, but if anyone could it would be her.
Is Bernadette Peters too old/too young looking to play Dolly? Please don't crucify me, but I really think she'd be a good fit for the role.
As far as Mame goes, Nancy Opel?
And, I beat you ALL to the Angela Lansbury in "Night Music."
Okay I have thought about it. I would really like to see a REWORKED version of Titanic. So keep most of the music and most of the story and just revamp it for another broadway run.
I would really like Brian D'Arcy James to be in the show again but maybe as a bigger part than Barrett.
I would also really love to see a REVAMPED and REDIRECTED version of CARRIE
Also I would really like to see a Hair Revival and a Pippin Revival.
HAIR
Claude – Jonathan Groff (Though I’m not a big fan, I thought he was great in Central Park)
Berger – Skylar Astin
Woof – John Gallagher Jr.
Sheila – Krysta Rodriguez
Jeanie – Eryn Murman
Chrissy – Sarah Hyland
*btw I'm sorry I used alot of Spring Awakening. I just feel very strongly that the cast of Hair should stay young. See I would workshop with this cast and then audition for the actual revival. But I do really love my ideas of John Gallagher Jr. as Woof and Krysta Rodriguez as Sheila.
PIPPIN
Leading Player -
Pippin - Michael Arden
Charlemagne - Tony Roberts
Catherine - Kerry Butler
Luis - Cheyenne Jackson (I know this part doesnt sing, but he'd be so funny)
Fastrada - Eden Espinosa
Berthe - Jackie Hoffman
A few more...
Chess Revival with Raul Esparza
City of Angels Revival with Raul Esparza and Cheyenne Jackson
Is there Life After High School Revival with anyone that I have previously stated.
Joseph Revival with Eden Espinosa as the Narrator, Michael Arden as Joseph and Cheyenne Jackson as the Pharoah.
Mystery of Edwin Drood Revival with Krysta Rodriguez
Rocky Horror Show Revival with Cheyenne Jackson as Rocky, Curtis Holbrook as Brad, and Jackie Hoffman as the narrator.
Actorman112: I'd see all of that if Cheyenne was in it. :)

Bernadette, Patti, or Christine Ebersole as MAME.
Kristin Chenoweth as Norma Desmond in SUNSET BLVD. Or Audra?
Rosie as Miss Hannigan.
I'm sure there's more, but I can't think of them right now.
