Bobby......sounds like great casting!!! Your thread from the other day....Mormans/Broadwayworld brought up some good points. I replied on it, but it looks like the thread is gone....???? I can't find it anywhere.

Oh it's long gone nealb1, but its spirit lives on in nasty Pm's!
I'd hope they'd want a Spanish Rosie...
Mary Stuart Masterson or Merideth Patterson for Rosie, although I love your suggestion of Andrea Burns, Bobby.
Bobby, glad to see that you're still on the board! I know that you were thinking of leaving. Not sure if you read my posting on the thread or not, before it was deleted...
Pm me, let's talk! I didn't see it!
They removed the Mormon advert quite quickly, so I'm happy.

hmm, isn't Andrea Burns a little old for Christian Borle?
But Debra Monk as Mae would be perfect I agree. Especially if she gets to sing the song "A Mother doesn't matter anymore" from the tv version.
I don't think there's much on an age difference. How about Natascia Diaz?
I'm sure they'll add that song. FSI!
Bobby, I just PM'd you on the Morman Thread that has since disappeared.

How about this for casting.......Catherine Zeta-Jones as Rosie? I think that would be pretty cool.
I doubt she'd take it. She a little too, um, stocky for Rosie.

How about Jackie Hoffman for Mae?? Would you consider her? I love CZJ! She was pretty slim and trim in "Chicago." I think it's cool that she doesn't feel the need to be rail thin for Hollywood. A woman with curves is a good thing.
HOffman would be great! Mae doesn't have to be large. Testa would be superb too.
Testa would be good as Mae...
Cheyenne Jackson - Birdie

Yes...Cheyenne as Birdie would be inspired casting. I really enjoyed his performance in ALL SHOCK UP.
Bobby, glad you agree with Jackie H for Mae...she would be awesome.
Jon, I completely agree with you on Catherine Zeta Jones on not giving into the pressure of Hollywood to be so thin. She looks like she's supposed to look - a heathly, sexy woman with curves.
I think Karl would bring more layers to Conrad. I'd like to see someone play it against type too. It always comes off as an Elvis impression, and I think the role can be so much more than that!
Testa would be great but that woman needs a lead already. Her performance in First Lady Suite is top on my list as the best I've ever seen.
Testa would be great in the Merman role in Call Me Madam!
At this point I just want Rosie to be a real latin who can dance.
Monk would be a GREAT Mae. Though she probably wouldn't do it, I think LuPone would be a lot of fun as Mae.
And I bet Laura Osnes would have a great chance of getting Kim. Unless they want a real 16 year old.
Do you think Marshall will direct. I hope not. Her Birdie at Encores was not well received!
And I know she has a huge fanbase, but I'll tear my hair out if non-latin Karen Ziemba gets the role.
I don't know if Burns can dance, but Diaz would tear that floor up! She's amazing. Her work in Sweet Charity was Award-Worthy.

I think Mary Faber is too old for Kim. I think Laura would actually be a good choice. Lea Michele would also but she might look a little too "ethnic". And by ethnic I mean she's gorgeous, but doesn't scream all american apple pie like Laura does or Jessica Grove did.

OK, bear with me now. Janet Leigh played Rosie in the movie, so for the revival....Jamie Leigh Curtis!!!
kidding...
(sorry Bobby, I know you said realistic. OK, let me start thinking..)

Ooh, I'd LOVE to see Diaz as Rose. She was fantastic in Sweet Charity.
How about Mackenzie Mauzy as Kim? She's 19 or 20, I believe. She sang "The Glamorous Life (Film Version)" at Wall to Wall Sondheim a few years ago.
