Your favorite musical

I have been wanting more cds from musicals and I was looking for more upbeat songs like in Wicked and Hairspray. What is your favorite musical? What's the worst musical?

My favorite musicals are Guys and Dolls (old) and Wicked (new). I know, they're 2 realllly different shows but....anyway, Im listening to Movin Out and I really enjoy it. Ummmm about your question, Rent is very upbeat. And ummm I dont really dislike any musical. Yeah its true lol

Well, cutiepie did mention "upbeat songs." From recent seasons, I like the recordings of The Full Monty, By Jeeves, Cabaret, Chicago, Millie, Urintown, and the Rocky Horror revival. Older, upbeat musicals include The Music Man, Hello Dolly, Mame, Guys and Dolls, Gypsy, Anything Goes, Can-Can, and Annie Get Your Gun. Rodger and Hart shows like Pal Joey and Babes in Arms are wonderful.

Ahh I have so many favorites... i'll try to do it in order:
Rent,
Wicked,

Little Shop of Horrors,
Aida,
Beauty and the Beast,
Lion King,
Thoroghly Modern Millie,
umm there's many many more, but I'm too tired to think of them now (its almost 2 am haha)

The only musical I didn't like THAT much was Annie Get Your Gun- I didn't dislike it but, I don't perticually love it.

hmm my favorite musical is wicked but you said you wanted something with more upbeat songs.. well rent has really good music.. i haven't seen it but my friend has the cd and i really enjoy the songs.
