are there any current broadway actresses that have both a good strong pop beot and a good strong soprano?
Does Laura Benanti count?

There are waaay too many to name, but two examples offhand are Kelli O'Hara and Marin Mazzie (though I dunno if their belts are really "pop.")

Kristin Chenoweth can do some belting, and she is a soprano, of course.

sutton foster mixes pretty well. Never heard her sing anything like the sound of music or west side story..but I would guess she could sing it.
I'm assuming Ashley Brown. Lord knows she can belt, and I know that she was Johanna in a production of Sweeney Todd back in 2002 at the Cincinnati Conservatory...

Wasn't she also Cunegonde in her school's production of Candide?
Oh, two more: Andrea Burns and Christianne (sp?) Noll.
Brown played Cunegonde in the CCM production of "Candide."
I think Linda Eder is the essential mezzo-soprano belter. That woman has a range that is unreal.
Hmm I'm surprised that nobody said Sherie Rene Scott.
^I was thinking about her but wasn't sure.

I've never heard Sherie sing soprano, so I can't say.
Yeah, I haven't heard Sherie's soprano either...
But holy crap! Laura Benanti's soprano is so great! It blew my mind on the Benefit recording of "Hair"! I was more familiar with her work in The Wedding Singer, so I just couldn't believe she could sing that high! Good call, millie_dillmount!

Like said, there are tons. Two I can think of at the moment though are:
-Celia-Keenan Bolger (Johanna in Sweeney Todd, and of course Olive in Spelling Bee, and Eponine in Les Mis)
-Emily Rozek (Glinda u/s, but she also played Maggie in A Chorus Line, and understudied Millie in Thoroughly Modern Millie)

Alice Ripley is another.
MovieGuy: Eh, I wasn't that impressed by Laura's belt though.
Susan Egan definitely
Elizabeth Loyacano
Mandy Gonzalez
Eden Espinosa, so I hear. We all know her as a screamer, but she's done the whole Maria/Laurey/other legit soprano parts in her past as well. :3
Spork Goddess: Yeah, i'll agree with you. I haven't listened to the soundtrack in a while, but, from what I remember, it was enjoyable... not impressive, but enjoyable.
How about a pair of British performers both just cast as Elphaba in differnt productions?
Carmen Cusack - sassy belt and high legit soprano from her days playing Christine Daae
Kerry Ellis- rock belt and a half from We Will Rock You, legit belt from Les Mis and Miss Saigon oh and a lovely soprano when playing Eliza Dolittle at the National.
Thats versatility for you.
Oh and anyone that has listened to the cast recordings of Taboo and Light in the Pizza will be aware of Sarah Uriarte Berry's soprano and belt abilities.
Back to Sherie (lol)...listen to that note in Love is my Legs. She can sing soprano...
Stephain J. Block without a doubt is amazing at both and uses both in Pirate Queen a lot...

What's that note she hits in "Love is My Legs," a B5? She hit it all right but it didn't sound that great IMO.

Diana Degarmo - you only hear a little of her belting ability in "Hairspray" but "Brooklyn" omg! Diana's Maria in WSS was all soprano.
Donna McKechnie
and
Ruthie Henshall
are queens of tis...
