I wonder what other auditions she's had...

But there are SO many other talented New York actresses that try out for this part and don't get it!
Dear Casting Team For Wicked,
WHY?
Anneliese Van der Pol is extremely talented.
She's the emotional anchor of VANITIES, and her rendition of "Cute Boys With Short Haircuts" is absolutely heartbreaking.
It would be a joy to see her continue to work on the New York stage, regardless of the project.
She can act the hell out of a watermelon. Can she hit those notes though?? I always thought she was the Ethel-Mermany-type of a belter. Glinda is more legit.
Oh God... this could be the one thing that actually makes me hate Wicked...
I'm also in the boat where she is one great actress .. but not a big fan of her voice as much. Some of those notes in Beauty and the Beast were .. painful almost.

This just might work, although I feel her acting would be totally wrong for the role, but, we'll see...
Also, why is Wicked in caps but not her name?
Id love to see her in this, but I was thinking as elphaba? Almost every discussion I've seen on anneliese, someone mentions they'd love to see her in wicked as elphaba.
I'm glad shows are trying to cast her. She's insanely talented

I'd rather see her tackle Elphaba.
Or, maybe something different, in a different show.
Nessarose maybe but Glinda? Please don't. There are so many talented actresses who could do justice to the role.

Wishing, she might be another mediocrity and receive death threats for slapping Julie Reiber in the face and stealing her opportunity to become lead, but we all know that at the end of the day the Gershwin regulars will be all over her like a fly on ****.
She actually has a wonderful voice, but she was not very kind during the stage dooring at B&TB and upset a lot of kids and parents with her attitude when signing.

Also people on the crew of BATB that I know said that she was very much a diva, not very kind to people backstage and her attitude towards the fans was terrible.
My attitude about actors at the stage door is that no one is forcing them to do it. And, that if they are going to choose to interact with the fans after their job is done then they can at least be nice about it. Van Der Pol was acting as if someone was twisting her arm to do it when she was in Beauty and The Beast.

They probably were.
She's a bit too young and inexperienced to be having such a diva complex.

not to mention too much of an ugly cocknose with the voice of a post-op tranny x
I REALLY don't see her as Glinda. Nessarose seems like a better part for her. I'm shocked that she hasn't played Ariel in TLM. I think that would be a good part for her, to go along with her Disney background.
i wonder if she's serious about staying in NY, i think she could have a huge career on broadway.
i'd like to see her on movies and tv though
also, have you heard "cute boys with short haircuts" off her Myspace? I was expecting much more emotion on the studio recording.

That picture almost looks...real.
She has stated that she likes theater better than film and tv.
husk_charmer,
I remember there being threads when She was in Beauty about her attitude at the stage door. I forgot who it was who said this but they were right when they were. That I believe that it's Equity that says that they can't contractually obligate a performer to do something like a morning show to promote the show or to stage door for that matter. That is why I am saying that due to the fact that it was something she chose to do and was not forced to in anyway at all, that she should have been a bit nicer about the whole process rather then being mean as if she didn't care at all.

They probably did. It's a Disney show, she was a Disney Channel star. They basically owned her at that time. If they wanted her to go out the stagedoor, she would go out the stagedoor.
