It costs 44 cents to mail a letter. What kind of letters do you want to write to a "show"?

And if you mean MID-town...that's where ALL the B'way theatres are. They are all 'walkable'.

They're all technically within walking distance from City Center with the Beaumont being the farthest up at Lincoln Center. And I guess 42nd Street would be of equal distance in the opposite direction, but you'd have every Broadway theatre to pass on your way if you walked down to 42nd Street.

You should have no trouble finding the Harry Rigby Theatre and the Pia Zadora Centre of the Performing Arts is just around the corner.

Unless you're disabled, all broadway theatres are within walking distance. I've walked from Lincoln Center to 42nd street without a problem, and I'm not exactly an athlete.

Then there's the Signe Hasso Performance Space on 57th Street.

Do most stage doors have an intercom or doorbell. Becuase it's probably illegal to just open the door and walk in.

Actually, it's quite casual at the stage door unless Hugh Jackman or Julia Roberts is in the show.

You can just walk through the stage door and tell the doorman who you'd like to visit with and he'll generally usher you right to their dressing rooms.

I thought the Harry Rigby was closed for renovations...someting about Cyma Rubin wanting to strip it of it's grandeur.

Naw, that all fell apart when Cyma was sent to prison. I rather like the Rigby. There's so much of that old world charm mixed with nouveau gay chic. Don't you agree?

BUMP: Has anyone ever hand delievered a letter, asking for a signed Playbill, to the stagedoor of a theatre? Do you give it to the person working at the stagedoor? How long does it usually take for the cast to recieve the letter? Becuase I did it for West Side Story and The Marvelous Wonderettes and didn't get a responce from either of them.
