Can't tell you how pissed I was to have to hear about Spiderman amidst all of the Tony buzz today. Not only did they schedule opening for right after the Tony awards, they sent out an email announcing their return today when the buzz should have been all about these shows that have just been honored with Tony nominations.

I will be seeing the show next Friday on May 13th! After I see it I will most definitely let you all know how the new revised edition of the musical is!

I've heard that it now opens with a pinpoint projection of Julie Taymor's face that grows and spins and grows until it fills the stage. Arachne, wearing a leg cast and neck brace, flies in and proceed to poop all over Julie's face. Reeve Carney, made up to resemble Bono, strolls on, singing a medley of U2 hits, takes off his clothes, and gets bitten by a spider. The audience then dozes off for 40 minutes, awaking when the entire cast begins flying around the theatre. They are encouraged by Arachne (still in leg cast & neck brace, but now also in an iron lung) to "clap if you believe someone will fall!!" An elephant enters, and immediately exits up the aisle, muttering to those sitting at the ends of their rows that they should ask for their money back. The entire cast (except for those unconscious on the floor) join hands and sing "Hello" from Book of Mormon, but they forget the words and sheepishly exit, leaving the audience to wonder if the show is over or not. It is.

the OP is legallybroadway. I so wanted that name! now i'm stuck with a 2 in the rear.

the plot is changed that much?? wow.

I wish I could see the first preview. I hope it doesn't last four hours. Woulnd't it be friggin amazing if it went off without a hitch? I will be so excited to see the show at the end of may.

Already a big fan of the show. I saw taymor's version twice, and honestly loved what I saw, but soooo excited for the changes.

I am curious to know how they place certain songs that were built up by the greek chorus. .

I think the new director said there is a new song Freak Like Me in the Today interview.

ANYONE know how its going behind closed doors??
