Is anyone aware how the hiatus rehearsals and tech are going? Time is counting down, I hope they aren't having issues.

Can't tell you how pissed I was to have to hear about Spiderman amidst all of the Tony buzz today. Not only did they schedule opening for right after the Tony awards, they sent out an email announcing their return today when the buzz should have been all about these shows that have just been honored with Tony nominations.

There's something very appropriate about seeing Spiderman on a Friday the 13th!

Wonder if they will still do the rush tickets? I am not going to pay full price for this show.

I've heard that it now opens with a pinpoint projection of Julie Taymor's face that grows and spins and grows until it fills the stage. Arachne, wearing a leg cast and neck brace, flies in and proceed to poop all over Julie's face. Reeve Carney, made up to resemble Bono, strolls on, singing a medley of U2 hits, takes off his clothes, and gets bitten by a spider. The audience then dozes off for 40 minutes, awaking when the entire cast begins flying around the theatre. They are encouraged by Arachne (still in leg cast & neck brace, but now also in an iron lung) to "clap if you believe someone will fall!!" An elephant enters, and immediately exits up the aisle, muttering to those sitting at the ends of their rows that they should ask for their money back. The entire cast (except for those unconscious on the floor) join hands and sing "Hello" from Book of Mormon, but they forget the words and sheepishly exit, leaving the audience to wonder if the show is over or not. It is.
