do we think the stars would show up or understudies like last year?
I'd reckon understudies.
Out of curiousity, how many people (audience) usually go to B.O.B.?
What is this? I've never really heard of it; is it stars from shows coming in to perform? I feel dumb. And how much is this?
Broadway on Broadway gets PACKED. My parents went, and they said it was way crowded.
Broadway on Broadway is something different, though.
i know, someone asked how many people came to that though.. look above.

Broadway in Bryant Park is a series of free concerts every Thursday afternoon, hosted by the deejays of 106.7 lite FM. It takes place between 12:30 and 2 and fills up the whole area behind the NY Public Library. Last year was great, with most of the 1st string players of the shows without celebrities coming to perform. Jon Secada (Cabaret) was probably the most famous who actually appeared.
It sounds really awesome. I'm totally going to the August 19th one. How many people do you think are going to show up? Less then the ones going to the Wicked/Avenue Q one, I assume. Does everyone sing songs from their shows? How early should I get there? Why do I sounds so stupid?
You're not stupid, Gypsy, I don't even know many of the shows performing. Hell, I don't even know where Bryant Park is.
But I don't care if I have to roam all of NY to find it, I am going to one of those concerts.
It's behind the New York Public Library. And thank you, that was sweet. :) I don't care how early I wake up, as long as I GET THERE before 12:30. I should wait at least an hour before, right?

Bryant park is right behind the New York Public Library, a few blocks away from Radio City, 42nd or 43rd i think.
How early should everyone reccomend going for the August 19th show?
All together over 15,000 people attended last year
What about each individual one? Sorry to nag, but I just like to know these things. Jeez, this may end up being even more crowded than that Indigo Girls concert, and that was *packed*. Ugh...
Bryant Park is located on 6th Ave. between 40th St. and 42nd St. The park tends to get very crowded around lunch time so if you want a good seat close to the stage I would recommend you get there early. For performers/shows I really wanted to see last year I got to the park no later than 11:00 for the 12:30 concert. On a day when say Wicked or something is performing, a show that has a HUGE fan base, well, I would recommend getting there as early as you can tolerate waiting. Get there early, bring a book, get a tan, watch the sound check, it's fun! :)
Each show will usually send a handful of their actors to sing a bunch of numbers from that show. Sometimes the actual leads show up (last year was Jon Secada, Will Chase, Frenchie Davis, and a bunch of others) and sometimes it will be understudies. But it's actually a good chance to see the understudies perform...to hear a new voice and be introduced to a new performer.
It's good times all around :)
Well what I have my eye on is Brooklyn the Musical. Only issue is Little Shop (Mainly for Kerry Butler, I'm assuming) and for RENT (Mainly for years and years of fanbase buildup and Rentheads). I do love Rent, yes I do, I'm just a bit paranoid I'm gonna get shut out.
Ooh, sound check? Yum. How early do they do that?
A LOT of people go to B.O.B, I would leave a little early to get a good seat.
Well, Little Shop won't be a problem because a) it's usually understudies and b) Kerry'll be gone from the show by then (*sob*).
Rent might not be a problem, either. Wicked is what I'm most worried about.
If it rains anytime the day before, prepare for muddy grounds.

There were lots of Muddy Waters last year when the cast of Big River performed. (sorry for the pun)
It is a blast. I have been going for a couple of years. Last year I worked a few blocks away so it was easy.
I will try and make it this year.
Ditto!
