Anyone have any cut Broadway numbers that were recorded that they know of or is a website I can visit to find any?

There are a few from LITTLE SHOP on the newer cast album.

Also, on the ANNIE cd, there are cut songs.

There's "Tear it Up" from Avenue Q and "The Lorax" from Seussical.

"Anytime" is a beautiful song that was cut from A New Brain and put in Elegies. It's also sung by Norm Lewis on Infinite Joy.

"Marry Me A Little" is a show/revue made up of numbers cut from earlier Sondheim shows.

There's a song called "That's the Show Biz" from Ragtime which was recorded on the Premiere CD but cut from the show.

"Blood On The Pavement" was recorded on the Hairspray cd... as well as songs that ARE in the show but were cut down majorly in length for the stage.

Was "Blood on the Pavement" meant to be in the show? Seems more like a real bonus track to me.

"Blood on the Pavement" was supposed to be a Public Service Announcement by Link and Amber (before the Madison dance). Cut scene, cut song.

This PETER PAN CD has a slew of songs that were cut from the Camdon/Green and other various musical versions of PETER PAN. As well as including the songs we all know and love. Susan Egan sings "I'm Flying". It's quite a treat for PETER PAN lovers. I like the song "Once Upon A Bedtime Story". I forget which version it was from though... I'm too lazy to go look.

the boy from oz has the cut number "tenderfield saddler" that was originally in place of "once before i go"

many of the columbia broadway masterworks has cutted songs.

"Stumbling" was a song in the La Jolla version of Millie, and though it hasn't been recorded, I like it. "How the Other Half Lives" was put in place.

"Stumbling" is an authentic 1920's song - not written for "Millie".

Any fan of old "Odd Couple" reruns will recall Tony Randall singing it.

On the "Applause" CD they have 3 cut tracks: "Loneliest Man in Town", "Smashing NY Times" and "God Bless".

There are a lot of cut songs recorded. Sally Mayes had a whole CD of them. Debbie Gravitte has many on her Menken album.

Two of my favorite songs that got dropped along the way are "I Want To Go Home" from Big (lost in the touring version) and "Bring on the Men" from Jekyll and Hyde.

I read an interview with Stephen Schwartz saying that he was thinking of making a CD of songs that were cut from his shows. I know there was a song called "Making Time" (I think that was the name)that got replaced by "Extraordinary" in Pippin. I dont know if it was ever recorded or not. At the end of the "Working" CD they have some bonus tracks. Some are songs cut and others are the composers singing the songs in the show. I love the Stephen Schwartz version of "Fathers and Sons"

Sarah Brightman put out an album in 1989 called The Songs That Got Away. It contains cut songs and songs from shows that closed very quickly. I don't really find it to be a great album, but it's interesting. I especially like "Three-Cornered Tune" which morphed into "Fugue for Tihorns" in Guys and Dolls.

"I Saw Him Once" from Les Miz was cut, but it's on the Original London Cast Recording. It's a Cosette song.

I actually like the Brightman album. She even does that beautiful aria from LA RONDINE -- the one Craig Lucas used in BLUE WINDOW.

But among songs that went unrecorded: Ilike the Arbiter's Song from CHESS. Didn't make it past previews on B'way. Still one of the catchier numbers, still preserved in the "Concept" album (along with "Merano" -- I believe re-instated in the Josh Groban concert last year???)

On the working cd, "I'm just movin'" I think it was called - it was the "checker" song....working in a grocery.
