Oh goody. I've created a term. It sounds like a dark, unintelligent, violent group of mole people or something. Very fitting. Updated On: 12/28/04 at 02:28 AM

You know what I don't get? Why is this thread called "dissapointed idina @ stagedoor"? Aside from the spelling mistakes in the title, it also implies that idina was disappointed at the stage door. Which wasn't the case. Well, I mean, she was probably disappointed that she had to put up with so many obnoxious fans and a racist stalker, but you know. That wasn't the original poster's intent.

I would be 'dissapointed' if someone shrieked loudly enough to make me spill my expensive designer coffee too.

Delph, congrats. Weren't you leaving?

Good point. Another thing- she wouldn't be disappointed because of the Idina people and the racist stalker. There is surely a better adjective for what she is feeling. Angry, frightened even, but disappointed? I think not.

Correct, but articulacy (yeah, it's a word now. Wanna make somethin' of it?) was never a distinguishing trait of an Idina Person.

Disappointed, perhaps, because she thought that for one godforsaken night she could go home in peace. Yeah, right.

Can you imagine that mobs that'll happen on the 9th?? What I'm concerned about is the stalker trying to strike before then.

Enough already. No Idina does not sign at the stage door every day. So? That does not make her a diva, rude, or anything of the sort. The weather in NY is ridiculously cold. Why in the world would anyone expect her to stand out there in the cold and sign autographs when she is trying to make sure and perform her last two weeks? To me that is the disappointment, that people expect her to. And going to the stage door before the show is rude and obnoxious. Why would anyone expect her to stop and make a habbit of signing before the show? If you choose to go before the show and she doesn't stop, and then you complain about her and make it seem as if SHE is the rude one? Then there is nothing I can say that will make you see the stupidity of your actions. Same goes for after the show. Some people choose to bring up some stupid story of her going back in for a pen as if it happens every day. To my knowledge one person made that claim yet the story circulates as if it's common practice for her. Give it up. Some people want to paint her as an ingrateful diva which is simply not the case. It has been my observation that people are tired of all the hype and threads started about her and they take it out on Idina by way of trashing her reputation to what? Get back at the fans and make it seem as if their adoration is misplaced? For those people who get one chance at going to the show and waiting at the stage door? Yeah I am sure it's a disappointment if she doesn't come out. But seriously? How can people make assumptions about her character based on her stage door manor? For the life of me I can't figure out where all the high and mighty people are coming from who like to make snide remarks about her constantly. Get off your high horse. Those comments are getting to be more annoying than anything Idina could ever do at the stage door.

For a long time Idina came out every single day. There are circumstances that have affected that: the size of the crowds, insanity of some fans (c'mon, I have been there on days where I didn't want to be around those people), weather, threats. I don't think whether or not she exits the stage door is any indication of her appreciation for the fans. I think the expectation of the fans is what is ridiculous. People should be a little more understanding as to what could be affecting the stage door thing for her. Let's face it. All of you really don't know why she does or does not come out on any given day. Speculate all you want. Call her a diva. Say she's ungrateful. But the truth is you don't know any of that to be true. So vent somewhere else please. I think I speak for many when I say we are SO done with this topic.

Toon, I've never seen you post on here before, but Starbucks for that post. I was going to write up a rant similar to that, but I was so angry, stunned, and speechless at the attitude and behavior of these "fans" that I decided to just threadjack instead.

But thank you for that.

No problem. I'm sure the post is burried in this thread and won't be seen by those that probably should see it so if anyone wants to copy it into any other thread feel free. I am sure more of these types of complaints will pop up and the post might be useful in another thread! Updated On: 12/28/04 at 03:09 AM

broadway_star_tomorrow haha if i were idina and someone screamed omg your idina i would def. be like ..omg i am! haha it would calm them down.

If I was recieving death threats I'd take the back way out too. Broadway stars have so many more fans to deal with, and much less security. It must be terrifying.

It is not in an actor's job requirement to sign autograph's. People need to keep in mind that they are human, too, and have good days and bad days. It does not mean they are evil, greedy, or selfish. Cut them some slack. If you were doing eight shows a week, and constantly had to deal with fans shoving things in their face, you would want a break every now and then, too. Don't criticize her as a person because you didn't get what you wanted.

"Do you know what pledge time is, Andrew"? said the PBS Executive. "Yes", Lloyd Webber replied. "My 50th birthday special must be one program that gets done a lot." "No", mused the man from PBS heedlessy. "Not so much. Our Stephen Sondheim Carnegie Hall concert. That's a big one." Spoons, forks and knives seemed suddenly to suspend their motion in horror, all around the table.

OY.

Toon-Yes, I am tired of all the hype surrounding Idina and yes that is part of the reason I permanently refer to her as the "big diva" and to Cheno as the "little diva"
BUT come on now, maybe it is because I live in CA but I have very little sympathy for the woman. (excluding the whole death thtreats business) She has maybe what 50 fans politely waiting for an autograph after a show each night. THAT IS NOTHING!!! does she shut down malls because people get too crazy when they see her? Do any paparazzi ever chase her?? Is she universally recognizable and therefore constantly harassed?? Does anybody even care who she is outside of the theater world?? How long do you think she is going to have such adoring fans once she leaves the show-you would think she would want to soak up the attention while she can.

Politely? You have never been to the stage door at the Gershwin have you?

I have I witnessed fans chanting about Idina's pizza, but I saw Richard Gere literally attacked today and in terms of fan behavior the people over @ the Gershwin stage door are charm-school worthy.

but you are comparing apples with oranges - bway stars do not generally have large fan bases that attack them - 50 ppl on one night is a lot for a bway star
