Oklahoma....wow....never thought I'd hear that on here.
It's just that every R&H show is EXACTLY the same, but different character names, or setting...My senior theatre class did like a 6 week study on R&H...very boring, but oh well.

Posted: 8/12/04 at 12:18pmDumb question...but what's aida about? I had a very critical/picky high school theatre teacher who only let us hear the shows she thought were good, and I've kind of been influenced (in regarding rent, but i heard the ocr, and i wasn't impressed, and that was my own opinion.) but anyway anyone like to help? okay im not exactly an aida expert.. see ive been on tour w/ various companies or doing local gigs in my home town for the majority of my time out of college so im way behind on my braodway... i'd better leave the explaining to someone else but the cast recording is awesome
as for rent... yes i have an extremely biased opinion i love the show and im not trying to force you to like it but i find its such a visual exprience its so much better whe you can see these people... i hope you might give it another chance but i cant really MAKE you like it...

Of all the Gypsy recordings, I think I liked the Angela Lansbury one the least. Can't quite explain why, though.
My Fair Lady - with Julie Andrews
Into The Woods - both the original and the revival (though the revival is weaker of the two)
Avenue Q - the songs speak to me and my generation
Rent - pure energy
Kiss Me Kate - Stokes and Mazzie rule (but I like the Too Darn Hot of the original cast better)
Company - Stritch has been the only one to deliver "The Ladies Who Lunch" with the right amount of bite
