It's a very good show...those who bash it bash it purely because they hear "Jerry Springer", and have taken zero time to listen to the music, or even go see it.
It's hysterical and smart.

jerry is one of the most amazing shows ive ever seen (ive seen it 3 times now). When i first went to see it at the cambridge i diddnt know what to expect(i went coz i wanted to see what all the fuss was about)but i was blown away.Sure parts of the show are lude and crued but hey what would u expect. The show really does have point to make though (especially during act 2 what takes place in hell).
It really is something to rave about the critics here loved it and it was the only show to win best new musical at all 4 major west end theatre awards

yeah HELL
Jerry is shot on tv at the end of act 1 and in act 2 he ends up in hell coz the devil wants him to do a special show with him and god so god can appologise to satan for chucking him out of heaven.I know, very strange

love the music......if I recall it was supposed to come to Broadway a year or two ago, and didn't due to subject material.....which is pretty stupid considering what DOES get on Broadway.
I would love to see this show!

yeah i can see why (no offence meant here)but america(especially church groups etc) is a bit fussy where religion appears to be mocked or gays are shown in such a sexual way etc
Here in the uk we dont really care(except some of the church groups and we arent a very religious country so not many of them around)its just a free for all here hehe

It wasn't subject matter as much as the outrageous cost of the show which explains why the US hasn't seen and probably will never see JERRY SPRINGER. Despite all those awards in Britain, the show barely ran a year and lost millions. Apparently it would cost some $15 million to mount here and after it flopped so badly in the West End, American producers lost interest in doing it here.

thats such a shame it wont play broadway
Though i think the bubble has burst on that show here in the uk as the recent tour really issnt doing very well (fri and sat night performances were playing to 500 people in 2000 capacity venues)
In some cases i think they were more people outside protesting than in the theatre.
I went to see it recently on the tour on a weds night and they were less than 300 people in the theatre.

Posted: 6/2/06 at 11:53pmthe shows budget wassnt that high at all and it ran for longer than a year as it played venues before it moved in to the cambridge

Is there a LEGAL video of it available for purchase?
I saw a commercial for it on their website and thought it seemed HYSTERICAL.
