He spent a good deal of last year in the States. He did COMPANY and his concert act at the Kennedy Center last summer. He was also in something in Philadelphia after that. Is he still in ANYTHING GOES in London?

He is currently in a show called The Beautiful and Damned, but when that limited season finishes he will go back into the transfer production of Anything Goes.

Don't forget he did Putting It Together in NYC, with Ruthie Henshall, George Hearn and Carol Burnett.
He's been in many musicals including Hair, Anything Goes with Elaine Paige, Grease etc. He was also in Hey, Mr. Producer singing the rock and roll song, "One Two Three" that's leads into the Little Shop segments.
Cds include
The Fix - Original London Cast
Grease - Canadian Studio Cast (Danny Zuko)
Hair - London Cast
and more...

John was here doing his cabaret act last year (actually, in Milwaukee - only short drive from Chicago). And, yes, he is pretty hot.

John will be seen in the Boston Pops' tribute to Jerry Herman airing this week. In the NYC area, the concert air on channel 13 at 8 PM on Thursday. Check local listings elsewhere.
Don't know who's hotter, John Barrowman or Keith Lockhart.

Thanks for the tip about Boston Pops. TiVo can't find it in my local listings, but I'll watch for it.
It's John, no contest.

John debuted his wonderful club act at the (now sadly defunct and much missed) NY club, Arci's Place last year (his mum and dad in town from Florida attended several of the shows and his mum sang with him as a special surprise --- to her too, she didn't know she was going to be asked up on stage until a couple hours before - barely time to rehearse an old family favorite duet with John). They were quite a charming pair and she almost stole the show from him.
He followed it up with two shows in the American Songbook concert series at the Rose Penthouse at Lincoln Center (mum sang with him again...we've become great buddies, mum and I... as I follow this new career of hers - his mum and dad are wonderful, funny down-to-earth folk).
He also did the Sondheim celebration concert (celebrating the Kennedy Center Sondheim shows last summer) at Lincoln Center.
He also does appearances around the U.S. regularly for his kids programs.
Having completed the Fitzgerald musical out of London, he also filmed a role in the upcoming Kevin Kline Cole Porter film and next, as reported here goes into the limited run transfer of "Anything Goes" at the Drury Lane which starts at the end of September. He was wonderful in it at the National - saw it many times there. Should fit into the Drury Lane quite nicely.
Now if Jay records only could finally get the "Anyone Can Whistle" studio CD with Barrowman released as promised - it has been in the can for well over a year awaiting release.
Great guy. Has a wonderful toy collection too.

A transfer:
Anything Goes was produced at the Royal National Theatre. They only have limited seasons of about 8 months (I think it's similar to the Lincoln Center?) and then they either close or move into the West End theatres.
So basically, when a show tranfers from a limited run venue to an open ended run in a commercial theatre.
Jake.

I believe he also played Joe Gillis in one of the SUNSET BOULEVARD productions.

Technically, at this point, Anything Goes is being treated as a limited run as well at the Drury Lane with another show coming in mid-2004. Of course, if it is a gigantic hit, like it was at the National, it might end up running forever.

John also sings with his mother on the Reflections From Broadway CD. He has another CD with only about 6 tracks that's all Andrew Lloyd Webber.
And he starred in the flop Matador with the gorgeous song, The Boy From Nowhere.

I'm wondering if any of you caught the magnificent John Barrowman opus SHARK ATTACK 3: MEGALADON on Sci Fi this weekend. It was DREADFUL...but in the BEST possible way. I have never laughed so hard! And I've never seen actors in a movie actually laugh at the movie they're in while they were filming it. It was absolutely ridiculous and awful and you can get the DVD on Amazon for $22.00!! HOURS OF FUN!
I never had strong feelings one way or the other about Mr. Barrowman. But now, after experiencing that grandness of SHARK ATTACK 3, I adore him to no end!

I heard about that rumor as well, but I never found them. I really wanted to see him in Titans, but it was so short-lived, I missed it.

I didn't know what the picture actually was. I just read on another about about John's shocking "pictures", but I never found out what they were.
