It's been about 6 weeks since she's left. The article about the accident said she might have to stay out the show for a little longer.

Given how she was hobbling around at the Tonys, I'd say she's not that close.

saw both. both really are incredible. karen has better vocal chops, i have to say, but there really isn't much of a difference.

Any idea for how long? Also, do you know who's filling in for her? Are the three covers rotating the time or is one going on the entire vacation?

Will Karen Olivo be returning to the role of Anita, or will Natalie Cortez be the permanent replacement? Sorry, I'm a little confused...

All info has been that Karen will be returning once she gets a medical "ok" to do so.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

according to Broadway Understudies on facebook; Yanira Marin is covering the role of Anita during Natalie's two week vacation.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

I actually ran into Karen at Broadway Barks today. She seemed to be walking normally, but when asked how she was doing, she said it was her second day without a cane and now she'll be able to start physical therapy.
It will be nice to have her back sometime soon!

I'd be kind of surprised if she returned to the role of Anita, but that's just me.

Yeah, I was just going to mention her being at Broadway Barks. Thankfully she doesn't have to hop around on those crutches anymore like she did at the Tonys, but she was sort of limping when walking. Hopefully her physical therapy goes well!

I saw West Side Story twice- once with Olivo, once with Cortez. Not to slam Olivo but I think the part works better with a fierce dancer. Olivo is a fantastic actress but a fierce dancer she is not. It's a shame about her injury but she has a long career ahead of her.
