Are there any lines in songs that you just have to laugh out loud at?For example..
In lsoh, in "ya never know" when Chiffon says somthing like "listen now seymour, chiffion's gunna sing for ya!" I just laugh everytime I hear it. Also everytime trekkie monster speaks in Avenue q.
HA HA HA HA THAT LIVE ALWAYS MAKES ME LAUGH FROM LSOH. ALSO FROM WICKED DURING THE START OF "WHAT IS THIS FEELING" WHEN ELPHABA SAYS "BLOND" ITS JUST FUNNY CUZ GLINDA IS SUCH A DITZ BLOND AND ANNOYS HER. HA HA HA GOOD TIMES
Not really part of a song, but as a recitative -- in ASPECTS OF LOVE. Rose Vibert, the 25-year old actress asks her young admirer ( who is very infatuated with her) how old he was while they were sipping wine --
"it sucka sucka sucka sucka sucka sucka sucka sucka sucka sucka sucka sucka SUCK...It suck to be me..."
seriously - i almost peed my pants
when you grow up surrounded
by willful ignorance
you have to believe
mercy has its own country
and that it's round and borderless

"'Mucho masturbation' in RENT. Especially when it gets a gasp from the audience"
My dad was driving my friend and I somewhere once... we put the Rent CD on, and were singing along to it. LVB came on, and we just kept belting out all the words. Then that line came... my dad did NOT laugh. lol!
I can't even think of one in particular from Avenue Q; almost everything in that show made me laugh!
I remember when I saw Avenue Q, the biggest laugh from the audience was during for now: "George Bush is only for now!!".. they seemed to like that. There are so many from Avenue Q, it would take forever to list!!
The mucho masterbation line always cracks me up, especially if the audience doesn't know it's coming!!
From Wicked, when Elphaba is talking about getting the shoes, Glinda says "Elphie, calm down! They're just shoes!!" (or something along those lines)... it made me laugh really hard!
i love that line from LSOH it always cracks me up. o and in taboo there are so many but one that pops out to me that always makes me laugh is when Raul says i always have an audience dear... and a balcony! though i think the last part was adlib i found it hysterical
"But I relish every brillant inspired moment. This is who I'm determined to be- an actor/singer/dancer-no, I take that back, this is who I am. These people are my tribe, my destiny. I know it.

From A New Brain: MR. BUNGEE IS AQUATIC AND DESPOTIC! I'm having frog hallucinations! MR. BUNGEE'S OCEANIC AND SATANIC!(cue Chip Zien's maniacal laughter.)
Please someone know what I am talking about. LOL. It gets me every time.
"Mucho masturbation" in RENT. Especially when it gets a gasp from the audience...
I remember seeing RENT for the first time a couple years ago. I knew very little of the score, and when the "mucho masturbation" line came, my jaw dropped to the floor. That alone made my friend laugh.
One really big LOL line for me is from Avenue Q during "You can be as loud..." where Princeton says: "You can't put your finger there-- OH! Put your finger there!"
This line from Hairspray made me burst out laughing like a hyena:
"Hey baby, you look like you could use a stiff one!"
I couldn't stop laughing, it was the funniest sexual innuendo ever!

MR BUNGEE: I want a song that says 'yes' 'Yes I will do my homework.' 'Yes, I will .. work.. in the garden...' 'Yes, I will go.. with my grandparents... TO ISRAEL!!!!"
*sigh* just love that line and the way chip delivers it.
delivery is another animal all together tho... because if you think of certain performers who make your everyday lines HYSTERICAL... like in the OBC of Into the Woods with "You talk to birds?" or in the revival cast of Assassins when Becky delivers "SH*T- I shot it" in The Gun Song....
anyway...
they're just great.
There's nothing you can know that isn't known.
Nothing you can see that isn't shown.
Nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be.
It's easy:
ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE.
Almost all of Avenue Q makes me laugh. I agree with Dory on the "You talk to birds" line, get me everytime. I also love "Well, it seems the artichoke is steamed" from Wicked. And I agree with everyone on the mucho masterbation line, as that was the first song I listened to when I bought the OBCR and completely didn't expect it.
"Someone please tell me- when the hell did gravity become the enemy? How has an essential force of nature, something that makes it possible for life to even exist on this planet, come to deserve the scorn and hatred of every teenage girl with no head voice?"- Broadway Matt
All of Q definately But when I hear Harvey Fierstein sing "Well, it's just us girls in the big dollhouse" I crack up everytime. It's sooooooooo deep, especially in comparrison to the high nasality he uses through the rest of the show. I love that man
Most of my favourite lines have already been named, but here's a few more:
"F*ck you lady, that's what stairs are for!"
"Ethnic jokes may be uncouth But you laugh because they're based in truth"
"I'm gonna jump!" "Don't do it!" "Okay!"
