To Have and Have Not has Hoagy Carmichael singing "Am I Blue" and Lauren Bacall singing "How Little We Know."
Bacall also has a number in The Big Sleep.
Why they let her sing, I'll never know, but they're still two of my favorite movies.
Risky Business anyone? The whole Tom-Cruise-dancing-in-his-underwear scene? I don't remember what song exactly, but I remembered that it was funny....

Thanks for bringing up Stupid Cupid - I definitely second that.
Anybody seen "LIFE WITH MIKEY" yet? They have a lot of musical numbers in that.
Naked Gun 2 1/2 - "Besame Mucho" with Frank Drebin and his team masquerading as Mariachi serenaders
OH MAN I ALMOST FORGOT THE ULTIMATE MOCKROCKUMENTARY!!! "2GETHER!" You couldn't get any better boyband spoofs than "U+ME=US", baby!

hey has anyone ever did a "Love Shack" dance number for film?
Because if no one has... I should. Well, maybe for an independent film (like iMovie film) because I'm not ready for bigscreen stuff yet.
The Risky Business scene is to "Old Time Rock N Roll."
I can't believe I forgot 2gether! Genius. I still have both of their CDs in my car.
Lady Sings the Blues. Love this film. O Brother Where Art Thou. Cate Blanchett in Bandits is soooo funny singig "Holding out for a hero" and "Total Eclipse Of The Heart".

"Michael" - starring John Travolta and Andie MacDowell and directed by Nora Ephron. They have a lot of musical numbers in this. John Travolta is hoofing it up like always, dancing to "Chain of Fools", and Andie MacDowell shows a surprisingly beautiful voice as she sings the country-tinged ballad with tongue-in-cheek lyrics called "Sittin' By The Side Of The Road".
The bridge goes "Miles made me smile 'til he stole my Camaro
Ralph made me laugh 'til I cried
And Bradley, oh, I loved him madly
But his tires were bald, and they went flat
So did our love, and that was that..."
Has anyone seen "Les Choristes (The Chorus)" yet? I heard some of the music and it sounds so beautiful. Love all the delicate strings, piano and reeds mixed with the boys' chorus.
I think there may have also been songs in Waiting For Guffman but I havent seen it in a long time.
This is Spinal Tap also has some funny songs.
I don't know if anyone has heard of the 1999 Film "Dick" with Michelle Williams and Kirsten Dunst, but when they give them the Hello Dollies with the pot in them Nixon and his advisors break out into the song Hello Dolly.
What a hoot!
lol

Hate to admit it, but FROM JUSTIN TO KELLY had some great numbers.
Okay, hate mail is just beginning to come in droves... Help.
There's an awful lot of singing in the movie "Mr. Holland's Opus" since it is ABOUT music.

Sorry. How could I forget "We're Knights of the Round Table," "Brave Sir Robin," and of course, the song that was NOT listed on the Spamalot playbill, "He's Going To Tell"?!
There was also "Life of Brian" which spawned "Always Look On The Bright Side of Life".
And of course, "The Meaning Of Life" which had a lot on the Python's hitlist, like my two faves, "Every Sperm is Sacred" and "The Galaxy Song". Even their song "Christmas in Heaven" is rather catchy.
I must agree with the Sweetest THing. SO HILARIOUS!!!
Just not when you are watching it with your mom.

There's a short bit of dancing in "The Breakfast Club".
That song "We are not alone".
"Thoroughly Modern Millie" should definitely count.
Doesn't WELCOME TO WOOP WOOP w/ Johnathon Schaech have R&H musical numbers in it? More specifically, don't the residents of Woop Woop have these sing along events to the R&H musical movies?
WHEN HARRY MET SALLY! Come on people! Oklahoma song in there song well by Billy Crystal!

De-Lovely has all Cole Porter songs!
Delete.
Um, I don't have any to add. I just popped in to say that "God, That's Good!" wins in this catagory. It was the high point of an otherwise forgettable movie.
Memory, Memory, Memory, SWEENEY TODD!

All three Austin Powers have great musical numbers.
Of course, the same choreographer (Marguerrite Derricks) choreographed some routines for "The Country Bears" movie. I second "Tiny Dancer" from Almost Famous. I also second "Afternoon Delight" from Anchorman. "CADDYSHACK" has a great performance of Bill Murray doing "Ballad of the Green Berets."
