Which one, DawnlikesRent? The one where they sing "Good King Wenceslaus" and the kids start jumping and dancing around? Or are there others? I haven't seen it yet.
And speaking of holiday movies with emotions, I just saw a movie called "NOEL". It's great stuff. It has beautiful, somber music by LSOH's Alan Menken, who I believe is one of the best composers EVER.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."
--Aristotle
I can't believe no one remembered the best one of all.The Spanish Inquisition from History of the World Part I.That is my favorite scene from any of his movies.
Drench yourself in words unspoken. Live your life with arms wide open. Today is where your book begins. The rest is still unwritten.
"Unwritten" Natasha Bedingfield
I think Capn was referring to the movie "Get Over It."
"If there was a Mount Rushmore for Broadway scores, "West Side Story" would be front and center. It snaps, it crackles it pops! It surges with a roar, its energy and sheer life undiminished by the years" - NYPost reviewer Elisabeth Vincentelli
How could I forget the Spanish Inquisition? Love it love it love it! "Hey Torquemada, whaddaya say?/ I just got back from the auto-da-fe!/ Auto-da-fe? What's an auto-da-fe!/ It's what you oughtn't ta do, but you do anyway!"
Of course does anybody remember the "Rockafella Skank" dance number in "She's All That"?

Tank Girl. There is a beautiful 1930's style musical number smack in the middle of this movie. It's a Cole Porter song...and in the movie it takes place in an indoor pool. I remember watching this with friends, and as soon as it was over, we went back and watched just this sceen two or three more times.
I remember the Rockafella Skank number well, Josh. I was at a dance a while ago and it came on, but no one would do the dance with me. I seriously tried to get them to.
That reminds me of the number from "13 Going on 30" where Jennifer Garner and the cast do the whole "Thriller" routine to help kick the party up a notch.
All the Camp Chippewa songs in "Addams Family Values", of course.
I wish I learned that Rockafella Skank dance so the next time I'm at a dance and they play that song, I'm getting anybody who knows that dance to do it. Of course I might get the same results as justagirl2, but who knows.
John Cleese's version of "My Way" from George Of The Jungle.
The "Sound of Music" songs featured in "The Pacifier".
And of course, who could forget "Shout" from National Lampoon's Animal House?
"How could she just suddenly, completely disappear into thin water?" - The Little Mermaid
Josh, There are kids who do a musical number in Love Actually. They do it for a talent show. Its a band and the girl sings. I think they sing some Christmas song.
A really old one called "HYSTERICAL" from 1983. In the middle of the film, some crazed villagers-turned-zombies start doing a dance/song called "Zomboogie!"
And probably the weirdest sci-fi spoof ever: "ATTACK OF THE KILLER TOMATOES". In fact, they have a couple of musical numbers, one being an uptempo dance number. I wouldn't be too surprised if people musicalized that and took it to the stage.
And, of course, the Muppets have their share of musical numbers in their movies, which are some of my favorites. Muppet Movie has some great songs, but it is THE GREAT MUPPET CAPER that pays true homage to the old MGM-style musical numbers. There's an Astaire-style shadow tap dance that Kermit does, and there are two Piggy numbers: a foxtrot Cole Porter-style ballad that turns into a vigorous dance break with men in tuxedos flanking Piggy Monroe-style. The other one she has is very Esther Williams, which is-- you guessed it-- SYNCHRONIZED SWIMMING!!! To heighten things up, they even hired a Broadway-style chorus to sing backup for the big numbers.
While THE MUPPETS TAKE MANHATTAN has a lot of Broadway-style songs (orchestrated by Broadway vet Ralph Burns) that they do in their Broadway-bound show, they changed directions with "The Muppet Christmas Carol" (by Paul Williams) which is basically light-piano-meets-baroque pop numbers like "Room In Your Heart" and "One More Sleep Till Christmas". Muppet Treasure Island was given a more swashbuckling feel with a couple of comic turns (one of them by Tim Curry!). There are no original song numbers in "Muppets from Space," but there are, like some that were previously mentioned, big dance numbers set to "Brick House" and "Celebration". The former is absolutely hilarious as it takes place on their usual wake-up rituals with the Commodores song being played in the background. At the end involve everybody getting down with their bad selves and singing in unison... "OH, A BRICK... HOUSE!!" Anybody seen any of these?
Okay that was weird and pretty dang LONG.

Major props to whoever mentioned The Adventures of Priscilla: Queen of the Desert. That movie is KA-RAZY! Hugo Weaving leads a great rendition of "I Will Survive", all while wearing an awesome green gown.
I think Robert DeNiro had a thing for "I Feel Pretty" in the Analyze movies, didn't he? That was pretty great, too.
Cable Guy - "Somebody To Love" by Jefferson Airplane Ella Enchanted - "Somebody to Love" by Queen, and of course "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" Planes Trains and Automobiles - everybody singing "Meet The Flintstones" led by John Candy
I second Anchorman - "Afternoon Delight"

Thanks for letting me know what "Get over it" was - I thought I was supposed to get over something, but what to get over I was totally lost on, LOL! Also, I'm glad you enjoyed Priscilla as much as I did, LOVE that film, Big Time!! Always makes me feel better!
