The Blues Brothers, using all the songs from the movie and the songs that weren't in the movie like Soul Man.
Life of Brian, Idle could rename it something like Brian Cohen Superstar or something like that.
Nightmare Before Christmas
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, combine the atmosphere of the Tim Burton film with the songs of the Gene Wilder film.

Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!

Visconti's The Leopard.
"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter

I'd like to see a CAMP: The Musical. But change that ending!
Also:
Definately "Moulin Rouge!"
"Watership Down" would be good.
"The Haunting" (1960's version)
"Disney's Brother Bear" I don't know why, I just think it would make a good musical.
That's all.

I know Elmer Gantry was already a musical, but I'd like to see another version.

How about Mildred Pierce can you imaging the Mother/Daughter songs, I think they'd appeal to all the Carrie fans out there and there would also be another great song about Hot Pies to please the sweeney fans. You could also go back to the book and include the part where Veda starts becoming a famous opera singer, very Glitter and be Gay.

I want to see Carly Simon turn "Working Girl" into a full length musical. Just to see something set in a 1980's office. Then I want to see Parker and Stone turn "Dogville" into a musical.

Mr.Bungee7, there is a musical based on the Peter Bogdonavich film PAPER MOON, of the same title. It has never played Broadway. I believe Gregory Harrison has played the part played by Ryan O'neal in the film.

Sant, ALL ABOUT EVE was a musical. It played on Broadway at the Palace theater and won Lauren Bacall her first Tony for Best Actress in a Musical. The show won the Tony for best musical also. I believe the year was 1970. The book was by Comden and Green and the score was by Strouse and Adams........The show is APPLAUSE.

Sharon1, a few years back a musical stage adaptation of A STAR IS BORN was being worked on. Cy Coleman was doing new songs for the show and Donna Murphy was attached as the lead.

Marquise, THE APARTMENT, Oscar winning best picture, became the Broadway musical PROMISES, PROMISES. It won Jerry Orbach his Tony award. The hilarious book was adapted by Neil Simon and the Score was by Burt Bachrach and Hal David with direction by Robert Moore (who had just done Boys in the Band) and choregraphy by the brilliant Michael Bennett. The cd is great. Get it!

Kindergarten Cop
Imagine such numbers as "It's Not a Tumor," "Who Is My Daddy and What Does He Do?" and "Stranger Danger."
With the chorus of kids even if it flopped on Broadway community theatres tired of doing Annie, Oliver, and The Sound of Music would be lining up to get the new hot show that they can cast all the local children in, ensuring sold out houses as every family member comes to see their little star-to-be on stage.
