I have to say... If you choose not to come see School of Rock don't make a decision based on a perceived demographic audience. "

School of Rock is a definite. They loved the movie, have the cast album on itunes, etc. I think it was being promoted when we were there in March 2015, but I could be wrong.

1.Dear Evan Hansen

2.Amelie (assuming it opens)

Ooo Amelie has one of the original Hamilton cast members! I may have to go ahead and buy those as soon as they go on sale instead of waiting. And Dear Evan Hansen looks great too. I wish we had the time and money to stay longer and see everything!

OOPS. Thanks for the correction.

I'm reviving my own thread because I see that they've extended Spamilton. How feasible is it to get out of the theater after Hamilton and make it via subway to the Triad for a 7 pm performance? Google says 22 minutes plus time waiting for the train. I'd also have to buy tickets there because I don't want to pay in advance in case we change our minds.

Thanks for the suggestion! We saw that last time though.

My vote- no show after Hamilton. Soak it up in the evening.

When you get to town Saturday evaluate your energy level and get tickets then to a sat evening show if you feel ok. I suspect school of rock will be at TKTS.

Or if you see that the train is running on time (they usually are) buy the tickets with your phone while you are on the train an hour or so before you get to the city.

You can check now on the Amtrak website to see the status of each days train. Check each day for a while to see what the trend is - how often on time? What times it does arrive when it is late. That may make you feel more comfortable about buying advanced tickets.

I almost always see two shows when I come to town, but for Hamilton that is exactly what I'm doing, just basking in it afterward...

I like the way you think! I actually have the Amtrak app on my phone. I've been trying to remember to check it every Saturday. And I do plan to buy the School of Rock tickets while I'm still on the train.

I know deep in my heart we shouldn't try to do another show after Hamilton. It's just that we're so far away, it's hard to resist filling every available slot. It helps me to hear reasonable people talk me out of my crazy ideas. musical Sunday night after Hamilton matinee?

Saturday, March 25. Less than two months away! It seemed so far away when I booked the trip back in September. I'll definitely look for you. What section do you seat?

Have you considered "the play that goes wrong?" not sure the logistics of locations, but we are in a similar situation in May. Sunday is our last full day in town and we want to squeeze in as many shows as we can. We are seeing the Great comet at 3PM that day and The play that goes wrong at 7PM. Check out their website and previews.....made me chuckle and it sounds like its done well in London. I'm waiting to see if they come out with any discounts! Will get full price if I have to but hoping to save a few $$.

Oh sorry, just realized you said MUSICAL. The play that goes wrong isn't a musical, so maybe doesn't work for you. But maybe tis a nice contrast from Hamilton?

We're looking for a Sunday evening show too (early April). Have Thurs and Fri eve shows purchased, plus two on Sat and a Sun matinee. Staying til Mon now, so would love to find a Sun eve show (musical or otherwise.) Have seen pretty much all the ones that do have evening shows already; sad none of the new ones do. Would see DEH again in a heartbeat, but its Sun eve show is gone by then.
