What do you think will take

The Broadway
The Marquis
The St James
The Neil Simon
The Nederlander
The Shubert

Not going to NYC now again until end of April 2010 and I'm thinking these houses may have some new big shows in by then...

Some of these theaters already have shows in them that haven't even officially opened yet (or in the case of Memphis, opened to unexpectedly positive reviews), so it's a bit early to be predicting anyone's demise.

The St. James - Finian's Rainbow
The Neil Simon - Ragtime
The Nederlander - Brighton Beach Memoirs/Broadway Bound
The Shubert - Memphis

Catch Me if You Can and Minsky's are both possibilities for the Marquis.

The Broadway is probably the biggest question mark right now since Shrek just posted their closing notice. I am betting CMIYC or Minsky's goes into the Broadway and the other takes the Marquis.

Catch Me and Minsky's both seem to be looking more likely for fall, 2010, instead of spring. Promises, Promises is rumored for the Broadway and Come Fly with Me for the Marquis. And the Shubert, Nederlander, St. James and Neil Simon have current tenants, three of which haven't opened yet, so let's not bury the bodies before they're cold, OK?

Well to be realistic... I can't see Finians lasting past the Spring (sorry!) and the same for Ragtime. I think the owners of the theatre themselves must see them as "fillers"

Memphis, if still on, I would probably see. But I think it could be a show of limited appeal.

Sister Act, Priscilla, Dirty Dancing, CMIYC, Minskys all supposedly opening...

St James could house Sister Act.

Nederlanders are involved with Love Never Dies, Priscilla and Dirty Dancing so I'm betting with The Marquis, Neil Simon and Nederlander bring owned by them those three shows go into those theatres...

Perhaps you can't see those shows staying open, but the people who invested millions in them can, all for you to come along and merrily predict them closed, for sport.

There is no way DIRTY DANCING is still happening after the WIVES CLUB-like reception it received here in America.

Why does all of this matter?? It's only October.

I could see Finian's doing well and lasting the season. (But then again, I have a weird fondness for this show after seeing it. It's just a beautiful score!!!)
