Seriously, do you not realize the other contenders in the category? Groff's chances at a nomination are very slim.

I dont know though.. I've kind of heard both ways. Some people have thought he has a good chance and others have said it's really slim. I dont know that its really soooo so slim, is it? It seems like Lea's chance of a nomination are more slim than Jon's... I could be totally wrong though. All I know is imo he deserves one :)

I'm going to have to back up Fantab on this one. You have every right to think that Groff deserves a nomination, it's your opinion. But, you post it in almost every thread, be it related to SPRING, Groff, Tonys, etc., and we get that you think he deserves it. Posting it in every thread is a bit...unnecessary. I also agree with Fantab that his chances of a nomination are slim, he's got some stiff competition.

It's a really difficult choice, and I don't even think I can make the decision. I am very partial to Melchior's character, but I love Moritz's musical numbers. They are both amazing.

I shall go with Danielm, except I don't exactly see the correlation between sleeping with them and their performances on stage, but it's all good.

I do think Groff is hotter. (I just wish that he wasn't a spitter.)

Groff is definitely more "OMGhe'ssobeautiful" but then Johnny just has the most amazing smile and the warmest personality and I like.. really, REALLY want to be his best friend

yes. Now I realize- thats it. I was Jon to be my boyfriend. I want Johnny to be my best friend- whoo I do also have a bit of a crush on. :P (and, just because I could forsee this becoming a "thing" on here, when I say this I dont mean ACTUALLY. I'm just saying. lol)

performance wise, I still can't decide. They're both amazing in their own rights. And also I agree Marlene that what makes it hard to judge is that Moritz gets all the high-energy songs! Well, Melchior gets Totally F*cked but really other than that its mostly Moritz who's has the "rock out" songs. And character wise, its hard because I feel more for Moritz (though.. Those You've Known almost makes me question that... but over all its still Moritz I think) but I really LIKE Melchior as a character. So yeah.. I'm torn!

I think I love the character that John Gallagher Jr portrays. All I wanted to do was run up and give Moritz a hug. I really felt for him during the show. I thought he gave a brilliant performance, IMO. I think that Jonathan Groff was also amazing as Melchior and gave a flawless performance, but I think character-wise I'd have to go with John Gallagher Jr. It's a really tough decision to make. They're both very talented actors.

ETA: I also agree that John is such a nice guy! I felt kind of bad because he was making conversation but my mom wanted to leave (it was 10 degrees outside that day, so understandable). Updated On: 2/14/07 at 10:30 PM

Do you realize they are performers and being nice to you is part of their job?
I am all for being fans of actor's work, but you guys are seriously being foolish.

Groff will probably not get a nomination but Gallagher probably will, get over it.

Being nice is not part of their job. I've met plenty of people at stagedoor who were less than nice. I thought John was a warm, friendly person. Clearly, many other people felt the same way.

Snl, that post of yours is really not helping your cause.

In case you haven't realized, your posts - whether they be about Groff winning the Tony or or about how you want Gallagher to be your best friend - have lost any form of credibility they may have once had (although I'm not sure they even had that). I know one can't expect everyone on BWW to post with sensible analysis/opinions/thoughts. Yes, it is a message board, so yes, you can say whatever you want. But honestly...your repetitive posts about how great Groff's smile is are getting downright annoying. I know that I, for one, cannot take you seriously in the slightest.

guys, seriously, we're just saying all of this lightheartedly! Hence the reason I said "not ACTUALLY". Of course I'm not ACTUALLY "in love" with either of them! It's called a celebrity crush! doesn't everybody have them? I think 99% of girls have SOME celebrity (or broadway) person who they crush on, no matter if they've ever met them at ALL or not. It's perfectly normal.

Again, I was not stating any of the comments I made above seriously. But does every thread on this place have to be so uptight and ONLY keeping it to actors' work and everything? are we not allowed to let loose and crush on people a little bit?

(and I'm sorry, I totally understand that those types of comments can sometimes be annoying, but I am NOT the only one on here who makes them! If you get annoyed by people exessivly stating how cute they think various people are, you might want to avoid threads where you KNOW thats how people are treating it. MOST of us have been going "omg I love them so much!!" its called gushing. it happens!!)

ok, I really am done now. I have a tendency to argue and I really try to keep it to a minimum on here. So I'm just going to end it now.

I LOVE this show and think these guys are really talented and cute, but this thread is silly and borderline creepy. And girls, don't assume that these guys...um...how can I put this...play for the team that you want them to. Nuf said. Nice people or not, they are generally just being gracious. They are NOT flirting with you, they do not want to be your friend, and I *promise* there are days when they just want to get home and go to bed and don't give a rat's ass how much you love the show.
