Mel B (Scary Spice) wasn't the worst thing to hit the Nederlander though. She was only somewhat below an average Mimi and I will say that her "Without You" is in my top five favorite performances (of that song).

to be fair....Joey Fatone was actually really good, and He NEVER called out of the show, he showed up rain or shine, which is kind of cool for a celebrity...

I think it was on the RENT podcast that Joey had said that he really wanted to be a part of the show. When he went in for an audition, he told them that if they didn't think he was good enough, to not put him in the show.

I do agree that there aren't too many parts Harry Connick Jr. could do successfully, but Sid in the Pajama Game was almost written for him (of course most of the songs keys were lowered for him and this musical became a Jazz Fest, but it was still enjoyable).

Nellie McKay is very talented.
Joey Fatone was fantastic in the role.
Mel B was an abomination in the role.
Christine Applegate was wonderful.

If anyone actually saw Nellie who bashed her, I'm sure they might have an understanding of their mistake of saying what she can't do.

I also think that Christina Applegate proved a lot of us wrong and showed how well she could handle doing a Broadway show and brought a lot of warmth to the role and was more than capable with the choreography given to her.

oh and I must say Mel B was the worst thing i have ever seen ON BROADWAY, vocally. she was terrible. simply unforgivable. But she was suprisingly good acting wise.

That being said, Joey Fatone in Rent also wasn't terrible, I've seen regular broadway performers in that show that were substantially worse than him. Did he really fit the part he was playing? NO. But that's when we blame the people who cast him.

honestly, for me, its Manley Pope. Simply awful.

And i'd say Melanie Griffith, but i didn't go see Chicago when she was in it (for the specific reason that she was in it).

oh i almost forgot (as much as i love her in movies) Jena Malone really missed the mark in Doubt.
