I've been thinking a lot lately about shows written for specific performers or with performers attached for a long time, allowing the material to be tailored to them a bit. I feel like we don't really see that anymore? Obviously, there are workshops and things like that, but rarely does it feel like a song was made for a performer's voice even if they sing it well. For example, "Bridges of Madison County" got a very mixed response, but every song Kelli sings in it is so wonderfully suited for her.
Anyway would love to know some performer/composer team ups you'd all like to see.
