I looked at it before, and Aspiringguy and I were discussing this. I wouldn't quite say it's disappointing, but she just isn't Cheno. I don't know... I have issues letting go.

That's really exciting, I think. I'm so excited to see her as Glinda, I hope I go soon.

The picture is on the front page of Broadway.com, but here's a link to the interview

Personally, I'm really excited. Sure, she isn't Cheno, but I think it's great to have someone new. Who knows? She could turn out to be even better than Chenoweth! (I'm doubtful, but she can still be great.)

Yeah, don't get me wrong! I definitely want to go see her... I saw her in Urinetown and loved her. I think she'll be fantastic as Glinda!

Once again, I cannot wait to see JLT. I think she'll be a different angle to the role, I'm sure nothing like Cheno. The only worry I have is that she said in the interview she's never done the show with Idina. I'm sure after a while she'll fit right in. That's my only worry, besides that I can't wait to see her!

And the comment about the C, I'm sure she's a great singer, she got a Tonys nom for god's sake, and we've heard amazing things about her. Updated On: 7/19/04 at 09:17 PM

They can't really put her up there not having rehearsed with Idina, can they? That seems really weird.

She said so in the interview, she did a full run or something I guess last Thursday, so maybe that was with Idina.

I think she looks beautiful, but I am worried about her range. We'll see, I guess. Lots of performers go on without rehearsing with the full cast, I'm sure if she hasn't done it with Idina, it will be fine. That's what understudies do their first time.

Agreed, she looks wonderful! Of course, she stated that the higher coloratura notes (D's and E's) were optional notes that Kristin added, so I think she'll do fine. We'll see of course. Updated On: 7/19/04 at 09:38 PM

She's gorgeous in costume!
I never actually heard or seen JLT before, but as amazing as Cheno was at her last performance (she was really great), I'm excited to see what JLT will bring to the role.
Considering Glinda was written for Cheno, anyone going in will have tough shoes to fill. But I'm sure she'll be great.

Frankly, I'm more worried about the deepest voice on bway placing the Wizard! (I really enjoyed Joel's understudy.)

There is something deliciously off about Jennifer Laura Thompson. Footloose didn't allow her to be subversive, but Urinetown sure did, and she was a wonderfully mad ingenue. I suspect she'll bring that off-kilter quality she showed in Urinetown to her role in Wicked, and will sing it impeccably.

Now i'm even more excited to see her in Wicked next month! I saw Kristin last December, and it will be wonderful to see a new interprataion of G(a)linda.

"you can only hit a C? oooh!! i can do that! put me on broadway!"

What a rude, self-centered quote that does not make any sense.

Sorry, I just hate when people say that they can be on Broadway any day! It is a lot harder than you think.

I did like how she said, regarding the score, (paraphrasing) "They're not changing the score for me, the high notes Kristin sang were 'optional.'" Six of one, half a dozen of the other. There has to be someone else in New York besides Kristin who can sing the "optional" notes.

Calm down children. This is about showing the love for J-La, not bickering like 5-year-olds.
