I always thought he had boy parts. Oh well.
after seeing the dreadful number they did at Broadway on Broadway - I too, shall have to pass.
I had to buy the student rush tickets a few weeks ago, to see what all the ruckus was about, and here's what i thought
it wasn't as bad as people have said (ears bleeding, etc) but it CERTAINLY wasn't good. It was a mediocre show with great talent. I really agree with everyone who says that the performers deserve better material, because they REALLY do.
However, I only paid $25 for my front row ticket, so I'm not complaining. I'm not claiming I want my money back, but I don't think I'll be seeing the show again. So I guess what I'm trying to say is that it was worth no more, or no less than $25...which leads me to say, Broadway deserves better shows....

OH MY GOD, IF PEOPLE WOULD JUST GET OVER THEMSELVES SOMETIMES. BROOKLYN IS A HUGELY ENTERTAINING NIGHT OF THEATER IF YOU UNDERSTAND THAT IT IS NOT TRYING TO BE SOME DEEP PIECE OF ART ON STAGE. IT IS A FAIRYTALE!!!! PLAIN AND SIMPLY A FAIRYTALE. GO AND JUDGE FOR YOURSELVES. THE CAST IS FABULOUS AND THERE IS NO SCREECHING INVOLVED, UNLESS THAT IS YOUR DEFINITION OF GREAT BIG VOICES AND STRONG VOCALS. IF YOU LIKED RENT OR TABOO, THIS SHOW HAS THE SAME ENERGY AND SENSE OF FUN. IF YOU ARE EXPECTING SOMETHING THAT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE,GO SEE SOMETHING ELSE. DID I MENTION THIS IS A FAIRYTALE??
I agree THEATERGIRL, but Brooklyn DID change my life

MY EYES! MY EYES! YOU BLINDED ME WITH CAPS LOCK!!!
Yes, because speaking in all capitals and without any sort of grammar or punctuation ALWAYS makes me listen!
CAPS are not neccessary.
I saw it. I did not like it. I will not be going back.
"OH MY GOD, IF PEOPLE WOULD JUST GET OVER THEMSELVES SOMETIMES."
This is a thread telling everyone to go see the show next week, shouldn't we question why and say why we don't want to go? Why should we listen to some random person telling us we MUST go this month? To do what? Keep a show on Broadway that we don't like?
EDIT: Lael, didn't you see the "!!!!!!" after each sentence?
I would rather see Prymate again.
AH AGONY...... CUTS LIKE A KNIFE.

*sigh* Sorry, TGIF...I was a little confused by the lack of coherency or lowercase letters. It all seemed to run together...
Excuse me. Instead of "no punctuation" I should have said, "excessive punctuation."
There's a thread on the off-topic board titled "Principle/Principal" that I think would be of GREAT help to you, TheaterGirl.
Last time I checked [about a minute ago], this is a BROADWAY forum
not a Grammar one. TheatreGirl just wanted to say what everyone
else is trying to say - Brooklyn is a Fairytale. Accept it for what it is. Yes, some people here don't like it. So what?
This topic was created to tell people that still did not see the
show and wish to see it, to come this week and support it.
Off to the plymouth! bye bye
Ah, her name isn't "TheaterGirl" its "THEATERGIRL." Maybe somethings wrong with her computer...
Even what I quoted didn't make sense. "OH MY GOD, IF PEOPLE WOULD JUST GET OVER THEMSELVES SOMETIMES." If they do, then what? If we get over ourselves (sometimes) what will happen?
EDIT: Tiny, of course it isn't a grammar website. But with a post like that, it is VERY difficult to read. Most often people won't take those posts seriously.
I'm sorry TGIF, was that supposed to be a joke?
Which? About her username? Nope, just an observation. The poster obviously uses CAPS a lot. Just joining today, there are only a couples one can read of this poster, one being her username, which is also in CAPS. I am simply putting two and two together.
Brooklyn is the WORST cast CD I owe, and I owe Fame, Which Witch, and a number of other doosies!
Personally, I hope the show closes, so something decent can fill the theater space. Eden does scream, the CD is wretched, and everyone I know that's seen the show says it's wretched.
It's so funny to me that anyone finds it good. Do you completely lack good taste?

Loge~Are you serious?
I can't believe anyone could be so stuck up to believe that their opinion is all that matters.
I think the show is good, but there are some things I dont like. I really do think people who havn't seen it should go b/c u cant judge all by the CD or reviews.
Tiny-Toon, you're right. This is not a grammar board. Please forgive my trying to make out a post between the misspellings and awful punctuation---not to mention that her computer seems stuck on caps lock.
Also: "This topic was created to tell people that still did not see the show and wish to see it, to come this week and support it."
Where was that stated? It looked to me like a plea by someone with stock in the show.
Anyone else think "Princesses" would be good at the Plymouth?
I'll go se eit eventually, but right now there are many many many other shows I want to see, and Brooklyn isn't at the top of my list.

I'm going to try to go in March. I've heard, from people I know, that it is a great show, so I'm really hoping to see it
I personally loved it...i got the rush tix for like $25 and it was 2nd row....but i think a lot of people who didnt see it, didnt like the cast recording....my mom didnt really like it until she saw it.
Wait, so if Brooklyn does bad this week, or month it will close? Just not understanding the important week for Brooklyn stuff.
I haven't actually seen it because I don't live in New York. I was gonna see it on my last trip when I found out Bare(my first choice) wasn't gonna open but ended up getting tickets to Wicked. I'm not a fan of the cast recording so I won't be too upset if it closes and the talented actors/actresses get to go find a better show to showcase their talent.

i wasnt a fan of the cd besides once upon a time and brooklyn in the blood until i saw the show... heart behind these hands and street singer and magic man and raven and others...so riveting and amazing live
I saw Wicked for the first time on July 3, 2004, and Eden Espinosa played as Elphaba, which I was pretty disappointed in because I had really wanted to see Idina, but I gotta, say, she was AMAZING. She has an incredible voice. For these reasons, my mom bought me tickets to see Brooklyn. I think it was ... sometime mid-january that I saw it, and although I absolutely hated the storyline, I'll give it that Eden was awesome, and the costumes were really cool. These were the only things that were good. Everything else just... lacked. Sometimes I had to wince at how corny it was. Just... BLAH! I do hope that more people notice Eden for this show though. She deserves a chance in a better show! So, I'd say: See it if you like Eden. Otherwise, don't waste your money.
