I agree with Carmine's. But there's also the McDonald's in Times Square if you plan to have a quick meal. There's also Ollie's Noodle House, which is across from the Shubert and Majestic theaters. (Their dumplings kick ass!)

I know this great little Italian place called Reno's. Get the chicken parm. It's to die for. It's near Jersey Boys.
I think the guys from Jersey Boys were there once because there's an autographed poster on the wall.

Back in the 70's I used to love Beefsteak Charlies because of the "all the beer, wine or sangri you can drink" policy. Who knew?

I love Carmine's! I went there right before I saw my first Broadway show, Beauty and the Beast! I will never forget it. We sat upstairs and I remember walking down the flight of stairs when we were done and touching the bannister thinking "my life will change forever in the next few hours". It was really incredible. Except a little while later we were walking through the city and my sister threw up her pasta-super embarrassing. And then she did again in the theater. = /

My favorite is Ben's on W. 38th. It's a little bit further of a walk depending on the show, but even this Catholic girl can appreciate a rockin' matzo ball soup! Their chicken caesar salad is to die for. The sandwiches are huge, and they give you the yummiest pickles, and slaw in the world.
Ok, plug over!

There's also Stage Door Deli. They have the biggest sandwiches in town. (Literally.) I mean really their sandwiches are so big that they barely fit in your mouth.

I have no interest in it but also try the Roxy delicatessen across the street from the Palace Theater

I'll second Ollie's (it's cheap and I like the soups) and John's. Also have to add St. Andrew's Pub across from the Belasco.

You can't beat John's and Ollies for price and convenience, but if you want something a bit fancier, I recommend Bond 45 (on 45th). Their mozzarella is homemade and so creamy you could spread it on toast.
The Roxy? Oh good grief, how awful! When they bring you a glass of milk and it arrives at room temp, it makes you think twice about everything else on the menu.

Haven't been to the Roxy in awhile & had no idea it had gone downhill so much
Well, scratch that one off. I will therefore substitute Bonds 45 as one we loved , Balzano , closed unexpectedly
