I'd much rather sit in the mezz at RENT, if I'm not sitting lotto.
I sat L orchestra once, only because we had SRO and got moved there. We couldn't see half of Out Tonight or ANY of Life Support.
Any opinions on NORBERT in those pants? *grin*

I just want a comparison -
Norbert in Dancing Through Life pants vs. Norbert in Act One Roger pants
And I want a very detailed comparison
Adam, Adam, Adam... when can we tie you up and have our way with you?

Posted: 12/14/04 at 1:52pmLotto has been freakin crazy lately. And unfortunatley, the surge of tourists will not disipate until after the new years. During the week in January and February are pretty slow. If you live close though, it's worth at least giving lotto a try if you really want to see the show. Good luck though.

Oh my God. That comparison could KILL.
Adam, Adam, Adam.... when will you come back to New York and play a concert that I can go to? Then we can figure out greenifyed's request.

Posted: 12/14/04 at 2:59pmHah, I remember one year, the day before New Year's Eve, there were 400 people at lotto. They couldn't even wait for everyone to sign up, they had the lotto guys going down the street with index cards. It was pretty funny. Biggest lotto crowd ever, they said. That was before Wicked, clearly.

Posted: 12/14/04 at 3:22pmYeah, we said that about Joey Fatone too. And nothing really changed. Most people who REALLY want to see the show buy advance tickets. Especially if they're coming from out of town.

Norbert in the Dancing Through Life pants ::stares:: Okay yeah, he looked really hot in those.
For the Neder, I prefer front mezzanine seats to lotto. But I go with what I can afford, which is lotto. Front mezz lets you see the whole stage and gives you the bigger picture effect. Lotto gets a bit hectic around the holidays. It's really all about chance. Plus, we got a year before the movie comes out.

I saw Rent for the first time sitting orchestra, row H, left side....and with the exception of the ridiculously tall man sitting in front of me, I had an awesome view. I saw Life Support and Out Tonight and everything else. If it wasnt for that tall man it would've been perfect, LOL.
*He got up to use the bathroom or something right before La Vie Boheme...I was so excited....got to see the wholeeee thing without having to look back and forth around his head LOL! What a relief.

If I go tonight, I'll post.... I just saw this cast a few weeks ago, so I won't have much new to say, but this will be my first time seeing Drew *shudders*
I really hope he's alright.

I honestly didn't think he was that bad. Granted I havent seen other Marks, BUT I did see What You Own on "broadway on broadway" and wasn't impressed. It was muchhhh better at the show I saw. He's obviously gotten more comfortable with the role. Hope you enjoy! :)

And I thought that I was the only one not studying for finals.
I saw Drew at the end of September. I can't help but like him. There's something about his portrayal of Mark that I like. His voice doesn't blow me away and he can be a bit stiff, but he was a very unassuming presence. Certainly not the best, but average and passable. Give him a chance. He's trying.

I wanted to throw a brick at Drew at B'way on B'way. I was so glad when Jeremy's voice covered his up. I'm scared, but I *am* going... so I'm trying to give him a fair chance.
Nope, I'm not studying yet.... but my finals aren't for another week. There are only two and they're non-cumulative, so I'm not worried.

I already had three finals. I definitely failed one of them. Oh man. Two more to go.
Bdway on Bdway, both Drew and Jeremy didn't do that well. Drew was even worse at his very first public performance ever at Broadway in Bryant Park this past summer. However, I really must say that in the context of the show, I liked him well enough. Some people think he sucks. Some people think he's great. I think he's average. He is a bit stiff in vocal/acting delivery and movement sometimes (he's very broad on top), but he's loosening up and has gotten better over time imo. I just think he's likeable. I want to see Colin Hanlon as Mark one day though (his Roger is fantastic).

Makes sense. I'm going mainly for Jeremy, since he's leaving soon, and, well, I'm partial to my Rogers. In the past I've been pretty underwhelmed with my Marks, which is a same because it's such a wonderful part, and has a lot of substance to it, but some of these actors seem not to be USING the substance. I saw Joey Fatone my first time, and I got what I expected from him; nothing more and nothing less. Decent singer, not a horrible actor, but I had no sympathy for Mark, and I put that at the fault of the actor. My second time I saw Chad Richardson on for Matt Caplan. He was my favorite, and his performance made me like the character a lot better; he gave him the depth he'd previously been missing. My third time I saw Matt Caplan, and honestly, after all I'd heard, was pretty disappointed; great voice, but he seemed more intent on making the audience laugh with his physical antics than on relaying any depth in the character. So, I'm expecting Drew to be somewhere in the middle, based on what I've heard.
We'll see...

Posted: 12/15/04 at 4:39pmi didn't think drew was too bad. LuvtheEmcee you are so lucky that you get to go see Jeremy one last time before he leaves. I don't think i will get a chance. BOO HOO!

Posted: 12/15/04 at 4:44pmMatt is one of the best Marks . . . when he's into the performance. He's just been with the show too long. Saw him something like five times and he gave me one great performance, a couple average ones, and a really awful one. Killer voice though. Drew was a nice change from Matt's more present Mark. I didn't see Joey, but Drew is less of a ham I'd guess. Drew's not amazing and I don't wanna hype him up like he is. But he tries and I like him. He's just sort of there. I haven't seen him since like 9/26 though. I saw him two days before that and he had gotten better in those 2 days even. So yeah, I'm also waiting for a Mark to consistently blow me off my feet.
#71re: rent lottery lately?
Posted: 12/15/04 at 4:47pmThat's basically what I figured was the problem with Matt.... even though I saw him that weekend he was on for Drew, and he'd had a few months off, he still didn't seem too into it. I'll put to Drew's credit that he's trying, anyway. Joey seemed kind of over-confident that he was doing a wonderful job, but this was also within the last few weeks of his run. He was a very over-present Mark.

Posted: 12/15/04 at 4:49pmi love matt! i also love josh kobak! Drew i have to say again didn't bother me. My first mark was joey and at the time i thought he was good, at least a lot better than manly pope who played roger at the time! but looking back i can't remember his performance so i guess that means something lol!

Posted: 12/15/04 at 4:51pmHm. I thought the exact opposite about Joey and Manley... but I think I'm one of the only people on the planet who liked Manley.
