Drew has definitely been growing on me, but dude, Matt's so much better. Even when he isn't at his best, he still bleeds the character. Yeah, he's been in the show too long, but he probably has the best overall understanding and portrayal of the character. Drew really can't touch him.
I like Josh Kobak too.

I saw Drew for the first time at the end of October and have about 5 more times since, and I can honestly say he improves more and more each time I've seen him. Some songs are better than others, the lisp he had in the beginning is nearly gone, and his acting has improved quite a bit.
I went in the first time thinking I'd hate him in the role, but you really can't help but like him.

Don't kill me Joanne! Yeah, Matt oozes Mark. I love the dude, I do. It's just when he's having an off day, it's very hard for me to watch him. Especially when I know what he's truly capable of. He knows the character inside and out and it gives him the ability to play with it. I love a lot of little things he does. He's so comfortable in the role but I just wish he still had the passion for the show that he used to have. Drew can't touch Matt on a bad day, but I still like him.
Manley was a streaky performer. He is another that suffered from being in the show too long. He stopped enjoying himself long before he left. I saw him twice. He gave me a great performance and a completely awful one. He's got a killer voice and does a lot of things vocally that I love. His LMC is one of my favorites. He's done some amazing riffs in Glory and AD. He played a bitter sad Roger. He wasn't the best actor, but he did his thing. Well, sometimes. I loved him the first time I saw him. The second time not so much. I don't know what I'd think if I saw him now (I haven't seen him for about 2.5 years), but I stand by what I remember.

Plus Drew is just so little and adorable, LOL. (Shallow? Yes. Too bad.) He walked out in that scarf and those glasses and me and my friend were like AWWWWWWW.
Jeremy. *sigh*. I love love love him.

Guys, I suck. Apparently the performance schedule changed again, and I didn't know it. They're dark on Wednesdays.
I need to see Jeremy again... I guess I'll give it a shot this weekend.

Yum, pan- er, cough drops. Ludens. Yes.
Whoa. I re-read that sentence as "pants drop." A freudian slip I suppose. I need to stop being hormonal and go watch this teen Canadian soap opera that I have a love/hate relationship with. Those crazy Canadians =D

Pants dropping is not necessarily bad.

Posted: 12/16/04 at 1:09amYou're bad for my health. I think my head just exploded. You know who doesn't like pants? Adam Pascal. I bet he loved being the Emcee just so he could flash his bum at people. I must go die now.
#90re: rent lottery lately?
Posted: 12/16/04 at 1:13amDon't die! I bet Adam did like those pants; he seems to have an affinity for REALLY tight pants.

Or an affinity for no pants at all.
Am I still talking?
If you like Jeremy, you should watch The Adulterer by Douglas Morse. It's my dirty little secret. He's got the Footloose look in it - i.e. really skinny, sideburns of doom, no other facial hair. The things that come out of his mouth in that movie are like unprintable.
#92re: rent lottery lately?
Posted: 12/16/04 at 2:03amgaaaaaaaaaah. To both - Jeremy and the non-pants.

Mmmm, non-pants. Teehee. So Adam's a fan of the tight pants as well? Roger pants, those jeans on Broadway on Bravo . . . I should investigate this matter further. He does it on purpose. That whore. Let's not forget the pole humping. Can't believe I missed him in Cabaret ::grumble grumble::
And Jeremy in The Adulterer. I think I flailed out of control and fell over several times. He says the most sexual things and I just didn't expect it out of him. It was hysterical and it was hot. Oh yes. Krissy will attest to that one of these days if she's still alive.
You know who also doesn't like pants? Raul Esparza. Cary Shields. Ryan Link. Those sluts.

Gah. The sparkly jeans. Gah. Pole. I think my eyes almost fell out of my head. Really. I was like "Adam. What? Wait. Why? No." *drool*
At Joe's Pub on the 27th, his pants were SO TIGHT. If my eyes stayed in my head during Cabaret, they most certainly were hanging by little strings at this gig. Thank goodness for the guitar, or I'd have been awfully distracted. You got it, flaunt it, I suppose...
Need to check out this movie. I like flailing.
Raul. Without pants. Good. God.

And I thought I was the only one that appreciated the sparkly jeans! I saw that on Bdway on Bravo and was like . . . Adam, your pants are tighter than mine. That's wrong and yet it feels so right. He's a distracting boy. It's very Bon Jovi of him.
And the lack of Raul pants was completely unexpected. Trust me on that one. I think my eyeballs popped out of my head. I can't wait for him to get back to Broadway. I have yet to see him in a singing role despite all the chances I had and missed.
I've only seen Adam and Raul one time each. Somehow, I think that makes me a bad person.

No. I am the head of the sparkly jeans appreciation cult. When I saw the Bravo things I was like "um, Adam... did you steal Mandy's jeans?"
He's just one big, beautiful distraction. But, I like my distractions. Oh, Adam. Bon Jovi... even so much more with the hair now. SO. HOT.
Gah. Adam, come home!! New York misses you, boy!
Raul. AH. I wanted SO badly to see RHS, but I was kind of young, so the parental units said no way. He was sick when I saw Taboo, but ohmyGod The Normal Heart. Heartstrings, say goodbye. I still can't get over that performance; that was my very first Raul experience.
Only once? Nope. Not a bad person... I mean, the first time I saw Adam, people were fawning, and I was like "Adam who? Rent what?" and was quite baffled. Then, about a year later, I lost my mind.

Hehe. Sparkly jeans.
The Normal Heart is my one Raul experience. I soaked it in. Saw a bit more of him than I was planning on, not that I mind. I got those QuickTix, only like $15. The show was so powerful. I felt I should've paid more to see it. Can't wait for Chitty, even though it's completely different.
Aida is my one Adam experience. One day I'll see him in something else on stage or in concert. I don't want to wait for the Rent movie because I have no patience.
Just had to throw this in here: Wicked is my one Norbert experience. I cannot wait for Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Can't believe I missed him in just about everything. I heart him though. A lot. I'd break my arm to see his Roger in Rent.

TNH was my only Raul theatre experience. Caught him at B'way Under the Stars, Seth's Chatterbox and the 92nd St. Y Tribute to Larry Kramer, as well. Yay for being an "Esparza head."
He's going to f*cking ROCK Chitty. It's different, but I'm convinced the man can do anything - he plays crazy, over-the-top so well, but without making it annoying and obnoxious. He keeps it really endearing. I'm so excited to finally see him in a musical, too.
Norbert! The day I saw Wicked was his first missed performance from that back injury. He's on my list of people to see in person, so YAY Dirty Rotten Scoundrels!
And... my Adam. I have my reservations about the RENT movie, but his Roger is a force to be reckoned with. It's truly something else. Adam experiences.... four times in Aida, plus one random stage door stop when he first came back... twice in Cabaret, his two Joe's Pub concerts, the Civilian CD signing, the Kean concert.... meh, I'm just a nut. Now HE makes me flail.

Posted: 12/16/04 at 3:12amHonestly, I think Drew Lachey is a better Mark than Matt Caplan. Matt has been in the show for far too long. His performance has turned very selfish, and it's no longer about servicing this incredible material and talking with the audience. Now, it's clearly about him paying his rent, no pun intented, and having fun with others from the cast. Manley used to do the same thing.
