Does she sign autographs at all? I've heard many stories about her ignoring everyone's request and walking away from the stage door.

*Sara Ramirez

She doesn't come out between shows on matinee days, I know.

She and Tim left out the front of the theater when I went. The show was still in its first "official" week, and they wouldn't even sign.

Hank Azaria, David Hyde Pierce, Christian Brole, and others were very gracious however, and made sure that everyone got an autograph and picture who wanted one.

When I saw it about a week after the opening she came out of the stage door and was incredibly sweet and signed everyone's Playbill, and I even had a short conversation with her on her Jennifer Holliday impression in the show.

Everyone came out except Tim Curry and Michael McGrath.
But McGrath was probably visiting with Martin Short, who was at that performance, as the two of them are friends.

It's not odd, WiCkEDrOcKS. Sara's not the friendliest gal in town. Luckiest maybe. Laziest maybe. But not friendliest.

Its just odd that this is her big Broadway performance for which she won a Tony and has gained a gigantic fanbase and she can't do a little something for her fans and sign their Playbills? Just odd.

*BTW, I havent seen Spam but adore Sara with all my heart..the above is soley my opinion*

Oh, and while we're on the topic of Sara and her fans, I wrote to her a little over four weeks ago and was wondering if anyone knows if she sends back most of the time or not or if its just taking her long because of the Tonys and her being sick often and all. Thanks re: sara ramierez

I find it hilarious and almost sickening that Sara who was not very known before Spam is now gaining a big fan base, won a Tony, and she can't sign autograph? On the other hand a VERY big star from TV and film - Christina Applegate signs and takes pictures with fans every day - now that is what I call a friendly, real, and down to earth celebrity. Sad that Sara who isn't nearly as well known as Christina can't sign autographs - and Christina who is a well known star can.

Haha. Sometimes I wonder.

How many different Sara Rameirez threads do we really need to have?

To say she has a "gigantic fanbase" is a serious overstatement. This board and the Tonys, do not echo the sentiments and/or knowledge of Ramirez outside, in the real world. That being said, she is not known for being the nicest, most gracious woman around town. She's always had a very surly demeanor and this started all the way back in her early theater days. Love her still, but she's always been a bit cocksure and ungracious with the 'little people'.

"She and Tim left out the front of the theater when I went. The show was still in its first "official" week, and they wouldn't even sign."

It's very much the luck of the draw, so it's hard to generalize. The night I was there, Tim was the first one out to sign. He, David and Hank were wonderful. Christian Borle and Christopher Sieber came out the stage door, but did not stop to sign anything (they weren't nasty about it...just smiled and quickly left). I didn't see Sara, Michael McGrath or Steve Rosen come out at all. However, I've heard, or read, that all of them come out *sometimes* - but some more than others.

I still hate the fact that everyone thinks idina is so mean and unfriendly, at the stage door or whatever. a few people may have caught her on a bad day but i saw her a few weeks after the death threats and she came out with gaurds, but stayed for like 20 mins signing autographs and pics and stuff. i find her to be a complete sweetheart...i cant speak for sara tho

this is about Sara, not Idina. If I wanted to know about Idina, I would have asked about Idina. Once again, Sara Ramirez.

I don't know about Ms Ramirez, but I have noticed that YOU NEED TO ASK a celebrity for an autograph. You can't just expect them to march out of the stage door and grab your program! I've watched some stars keep going toward home or their car or wherever, but as soon as someone ASKED for an autograph or a photo they smiled and were happy to stop and sign for anyone who wanted.

Also, maybe she had a cold or was protecting her health. Coughing up eight shows a week in what I imagine to be a demanding role vocally is a tall order. A lot of people ask for photos and sometimes one hug or handshake is all it takes to get a cold that will keep you from performing at your best - or at all!

(Taking that example to the extreme: there's an Agatha Christie mystery, "The Mirror Crack'd", where a star finds out years later that she got a horrible illness that caused her to miscarry from a quick kiss from a fan who left her sickbed to meet her. The star murders the fan!)

None of this, of course, excuses downright rudeness but I just wanted to throw those thoughts out there.

Idina has previously stated that she doesn't like big crowds or the whole stage door thing. If you ssee her at the RENT set she's very friendly and psoes for pictures and will talk to you. She feels that if you're nice enough to wait, she will fake a smile and sign, and i respect that because she signed almost every single night she did the show on Broadway.

Must I say this again? I don't care about Idina. I'm asking about Sara Ramirez.

The night I saw it in late May, Sara came out and was very gracious to everyone. She stayed and signed Playbills for everyone who wanted them signed and politely endured a long line of people telling her how lucky she is to get to kiss Tim Curry every night. (I agree, but I'm sure being told so gets old after a while!) Just my experience, of course, but I wanted to balance the negative comments a bit.

That night David Hyde Pierce, Hank Azaria, and Steve Rosen also came out but no one else did. All three of them were also extremely gracious and polite.

Okay, listen I was adding to a comment that was previously made, not yours! So get your attitude the hell out because this has nothing to do with you.
