you've just proven that none of these shows are gone forever because you remember them and just reminded all of us of them (unfortunately).

HOw has this sock not been banned?
i agee with bryan it is unfair that these shows dnt have cast cds made
hehehhe
Speaking of Crybaby, I actually saw a poster for it today that was never taken down. It was by a parking lot on West 43 rd.
The Times That Are a Change? Well, I definitly missed that one...
Thank you for reminding me of Lennon. And that's not sarcastic.
(But I saw it in SF, not NY. Heh.)
Why stope with shows from the last few years? Hundreds of flops never got recorded: THE GIRL FROM NANTUCKET, IF THE SHOE FITS, HIT THE TRAIL, REUBEN REUBEN, CARNIVAL IN FLANDERS, COPPER AND BRASS.
It's just a fact of life. Not every flop show gets recorded, and in most cases it's a good thing.
Of the list Bryan provided, 4 are jukebox shows so the songs are available elsewhere. CRY BABY and IN MY LIFE have demo discs floating around. Only GLORY DAYS is truly gone.
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com
Speaking of gone forever...did Capeman ever get a fully realized cast album? I seem to have some sort of one disc demo or something lying around here.
Capeman did actually get recorded and I believe you can buy it on US iTunes. If you want to buy a physical CD though, there's only the Songs from the Capeman CD that is mostly Paul Simon.
Bryan, what's the point of beating this dead horse over and over?
"Platinum" never got a cast recording. I saw it twice for the music.
HAHA! LMAO

PLATINUM didn't get recorded, but SUNSET (the one-night revision with Tammy Grimes) did--explain THAT.

Glory Days has a promotional CD that was sent out.

Should we show bryan that cliff Alice Ripley was talking about.

Or 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue which lasted 7 performances... or La Plume de Ma Tante, which ran over two years on Broadway.
It's just a fact of the industry. Albums are expensive; and for one reason or another certain shows aren't recorded.

I have faith that Joe Brooks will mount a revival of his seminal classic "In My Life". Joe is just that kind of guy.
