re: shows you have grown out of ?

Rent
Wicked
Anything Andrew Lloyd Webber (except Phantom and Woman)
and I'm starting to get tired of Passion for some reason. I love the storyline to death, but it's growing old for me.

Phantom of the Opera (I'm tired of it- over exposure!!!)

Chicago (though I am going to see it when I go to NY in May as I want to see how it is done live and I really do enjoy the music- I just got overexposed to it)

Evita (I over listened to it)

Cats (need I say any more?)

Enjolras - funny you should say Miss Saigon. I was OBSESSED with it when i discovered musicals 12 (or so) years ago. I then didn't listen to it for a long while....and I've found myself seeking those songs out over the last couple days. These things are cyclical, I suppose.

I don't think I have much Phantom juice left. I went through this whole phase where I ate drank and breathed Phantom of the Opera. After I see it a couple of more times on B'way, I'll be Phantomed out.

PHANTOM and WICKED to some extent- i listen to their CDs every few months or so...
for me, though, i definitely have outgrown FIDDLER- i used to be obsessed with that show, but not any more

I don't think it's possible to "grow out of" shows such as Chicago and Phantom. That phrase implies that you've become too mature for the show. I think one can grow out of a show like Wicked, but I would imagine that it's hard to become too mature for Chicago.

-- TOTALLY agree.

Some of you listing it, haven't even seen the stage version!

I could never get tired of Chicago, it's my favorite show. And a hell of a lot better half of the sh*t musicals of today.

That being said, I have grown out of WICKED.
